Right! In my crosshairs so far are the DRM Host, OTA update service and a few others. A lot of these automatically relaunch, so I'm gonna have to go deeper and prevent them from running in the first place

OTA update checker is removed, DRM service and a few others have been stripped out just to see if it makes any impact.
Anyone see any reason to keep sprintdiag? System runs fine without it, but I'm not sure if it ties into hiddenmenu or not or has any other ramifications.

So I take it we have chosen a base?
I would leave those things in until we get a running Rom and then see what happens when we take them out. That way the work isn't for not.
Also couldn't you reverse engineer a program like audio starts to see where exactly they are cutting out these processes and just make them permanent?

Sorry it was supposed to say autostarts. It's an app that removes boot and post boot processes similar to how msconfig works but for android.

The only reason I suggest it is because it might point to what you are missing in terms of stopping the processes that you cannot find. You might find something that referenceswhat you are looking for.
But it may also prove to be more cumbersome if it is all in smali.
