I agree 100% also. ZTE needs to get with the program if they want to sell a lot of Phones.
I think they should release the entire source code it would only be a benefit on both ZTE and the users here and throughout the Android community. They would sell more phones (you hear that ZTE) and we will be able to do what this thing needed in the first place.
Or they can release ICS for us ZTE, which I don't see you doing so you can save your time ZTE and let the community create ICS.
Sounds fair to me if you (ZTE) don't want to comply with the open source agreement I will never buy a phone from your company ever again, Actually I will probably be looking for another phone and send this back to you, until you make it right. Android is on 4.0.4 now not 2.x Gingerbread. Get with the program ZTE or you cell phone business in the U.S will fail and I'm sure other countries will give up on you also. Just look at the other big name cell phone companies and what they are doing (upgrading and releasing their sources) maybe its a trend you should follow if you want to be a real player in the cell phone business.
