Root [Boost Mobile] [ROM] n00b (B10 based) VIII.II FULL Install 1/23/2013

so if you type free in shell or terminal you are seeing swap used up to the 200mb level?

you can open the 55swap file and edit the size there (in the /system/etc/init.d folder)

OK I checked the emulator. The phone is eating up my internal memory and only a 1/4 of SWAP is being used.

It won't use all the swap, that's why it s pointless to increase the size. If you increase swappiness it will use more of it . But it should be fine where it's at... look on the market for " ram booster

The correct answer is hell noo... only if you want to turn it into a paper weight... but luckily Mr bobo has a script in his Rom that makes sure your on the right phone before it actually starts flashing

So I got bored earlier and decided to try something... I removed swap and my phone ran smoother. So I figured with swap gone to go to shins 1.6 oc kernel and my phone is now like lightening.

You talked me into it, Im flashing this thing now. I hope I'm not sorry. But I was going to do a wipe of everything anyway sd card included. So may as well go ahead with it now.

I searched this thread but didn't see any definitive solution to the low in-call volume. Did I miss it? Is there a tried and true solution yet??
Thanks!!

I'm a sorry bitch now!!! Major freeze ups, I shoulda known better, but curiosity got the better of me!!

Finally got a file transfer, flashing and rebooting. Im only going to try the swap file deletion and kernal flash once!!! Plus I'm making a nandroid back up. I can be a real dumbass sometimes!!:(

Ya I tried the oc kernel its awesome. I did a quadrant benchmark and got 2757 compared to stock n00b V which is 2102. If it wasn't for the wifi sleep issue I would keep it. But I like having trust worthy wifi.

Your having wifi issues? Strange I've been fine.

Don't be so hard on yourself. It takes patience. And lots of repetition. Ask anyone how often people mess up with this stuff. Its not a big deal considering you were able to flash it over again by yourself. :D
