Root [Boost Mobile] [Root][Recovery]Ultimate warp drive!

First ZTE for me as of yesterday and the first thing I wanted to do is Root. So I came here and started reading and collecting info. I downloaded some necessary files and went to work. And this is what I got.

On windows XP 32bit

1.Ultimate warp drive.
I ran it and the "drivers" and all went well, it went to "cmw" on phone just fine and "root" went through as did "SU" but when I "reboot" the phone
into "recovery" the "CMW" is no longer there "only the stock recovery" but the root is "Good" and "Super User" I also ran the "ZTE Warp Installer V2" and still can't get "CMW to stick" What am I doing wrong? I was up till 6:00am with jet lag and tunnel vision as well. I only have internet access through PdaNet from my Prevail. If possible can someone tell me what steps are taken first and so on. Thanks and be kind for this is my first Root with ZTE.

where do I get Magic Installer and also I didn't get a problem with Rooting and Super User but I am having trouble getting CMW to stick other than the CMW issue I have full Root and SU access. Also is magic installer a desktop app or android apk. Thanks in advance.

there are other good ROMS for this phone that would do the same thing but I am biased :)

I believe there is a file on the phones put there by boost now that tries to keep the stock recovery, not sure where it is on the phone, but you have to delete that file so recovery doesn't get written back to stock when you reboot.

Or just flash a custom ROM

I am new to the ZTE and would like to run your Rom, however where would I look for a Rom for ZTE Warp?
 
Hey guys how do I reboot into recovery? When I do it pressing down volume up button + camera button + power button it reboots into stock recovery.

Its just the volume and power buttons and if its booting into stock that means you don't have cwm recovery.did you install it ? Sometimes it doesn't stick .are you rooted? If your rooted you need root explorer app.go in system/ect and delete contents of install-recovery.sh file, then cwm will stick. There was a thread on it.I will bump it to bring thread to the top here and you can read it before you do anything OK.

I had the same issue, looks like an update along the way added that script that reloads the stock recovery if it's been changed. Perhaps OP should add that to his instructions?

Well you may not be able to do that, but you could have an input box where you put in your IMEI or mobile phone brand/model etc, and then it shows where to find the drivers for selected device, could be done, i can't find drivers for my ZTE KIS on Virgin. I've been known to donate when i see that something really has saved me time, and thus money too. Knowledge costs money, i'm more than willing to pay, but only after delivery of electronic code/info. which is fair enough.

In option 4, after it installs CWM and reboots it goes into the default recovery screen. In option 1, it will get me to CWM but when I select install zip from sd it says can't mount sdcard. Please help!

hello listen? i have boost mobile hydro C5170 my phone was doing a update then it turned off and now all it does is boot to the boost mobile logo and then it restarts over again to the same screen i cannot do anything with this phone i can not even get it to the download screen... i really need help with this .. i think my os system it gone can anybody please help me please email me at starchild35@gmail.com

Welcome to Android Forums Isamuddin! :D
This root method is only compatible with the ZTE Warp (N860). I couldn't find anything on Android Forums for that phone you specified, or even a root method on Google. Sorry, some phones are unrootable...
