My favorite keyboard is the one from Swype and I can't get it to change from the ICS Keyboard. I select Swype in the Language & Keyboard section of Settings but it doesn't stick. When I long press in text input to select the Input Method, it doesn't stick either. I love the way Swype lets me drag my finger to write instead of tapping. I find it much faster and I make fewer mistakes so I really want to use it. Am I doing something wrong or am I overlooking a setting? :hmmmm2:

well from personal expierence here it seems it is a small bug (nothing HUGE) that wont let settings marks stick btu your may just be the keyboards i am currently in the process of locating what is causing this to happen and any and all findings will be shared with my buddy jet :D hope that helps best of luck!
 
If you boot into CWM and fix permissions, it SHOULD take care of it. Alternatively, you can check the keyboard, and reboot the phone after you check it. It shoudl stick then as well.

Reflash the kernel... its at the bottom of the OP... I don't know why but sometimes I have to reflash it even though I never switched kernels

As I was looking at the Camera ICS+ app, it FCs on me when I press the icon below the still camera icon on the bottom left of the screen. I'm not sure what the icon is to tell you the truth and that's why I pressed it; to see what it did.

That's the panorama mode... you have download to download camera ics from the market and replace the one I included to fix the problem

Ok, I'm impressed with you guys & gals and the fast responses. I really appreciate it. I just fixed permissions and reflashed the stock kernel as suggested. When I try to choose the Swype keyboard when I long press and input box it won't let me do it. It just stays on the ICS one. I'm now in the process of reinstalling Swype Beta.

Oops, I was trying to restore the email app that I like from a previous Titanium backup on the stock rom. I am now sure it won't work because Titanium backup is stuck trying to restore the app. The blue "Restoring App+Data" window with the progress circle just stays on the screen. I can't get it to stop using the back key. I even tried to kill the Titanium Backup process but it still shows when I look at Titanium Backup again to confirm if it stops. My next step is to restart. Just wonder if there's something I can do before rebooting?

EDIT: Rebooting reset Titanium Backup and it was fine.
 
In titanium backup go to preferences and scroll all the way down to the bottom and you will see something like "processing mode"... change it from direct to indirect and it will fix the app restoring problem

Yes I do... I think I will create two versions of my rom... full and lite... the full will feature all stock google apps and the lite will have them removed...

Is there a way to post the APK's for the stock apps so someone can get your lite version and choose which stock apps to install for themselves? I don't know if that would break any rules, regs, or laws but it would make it versatile.

I set the Preference to Indirect for the Processing Mode. It was the last item in the list. I tried to restore the email app and it just kept trying and trying and trying.... I wonder what makes my backup act like that? I await the zip file with the APK's. Thanks for offering to post them.

Its because his ROM is deodexed and the email.apk isnt also its you would have to manually add it
