Root [Boost Mobile] Warp Cream Sandwich Rom [Discontinued]

Should this rom move away from Ice Cream Sandwich and Towards Jelly Bean?

Ok so i opened OTA and there is an update and i go to download it and it says "There was an error with the download!"

How do i fix this? lol

1st time rooted yesterday and wcs was my 1st ROM. No major issues I just had to fix permissions twice. Very smooth thanks!
 
I dont know if this is the right place... I have the warp cream sandwich rom installed on my phone and its really nice. i was able to modify the scrip in the rom installer template and i made a version of it that installs apps in the data folder so that i can include apps without cluttering the system... anyways the problem i am having is that i live in Montreal and this phone was recently released in Canada for public mobile and i am trying to modify settings so that it can roam because public mobile being a new company and all has a very small network coverage and roaming is a must. So in wireless network sub-menu i have these options "data", "data roaming" and "system select" which has a sub-menu of its own that contains the options "home only" and "automatic". How would i go about doing this? is it easier for me to start from scratch with my stock rom? Any help would be greatly appreciated. If anyone is interested in the modified template that install apps as data i will post a link to it. :)
 
has the problem with not being able to change the time zones been fixed I live in the eastern US and I can't switch the time and that is the only problem I have with this rom...other then that I love it !! please let me know if this has been taken care of so that I can update my phone !! Thank You for all the hard work that you have done on this !!.....Cyn :O)

Im on 1.6 and I don't have any time zone issues

I posted my solution to the time zone issue a little while ago. Anyway, this is what I wrote:

I had the timezone issue when I went to China. Download ClockSync and TimeZoneDB for ClockSync from the Play Store. Just go through the ClockSync's preferences and adjust away. Good luck!
 
Thanks for the informative reply ;) Why im asking is that this phone is not mission critical but i really dont want to be a guinea pig since my family only uses. Cells..... no land lines. So if i brick, im goi g out to buy a new phone asap, trust me when i say it would be a big inconvenience. So the question is other than a possible wifi issue... has anyone had any other problems.... what about heat dissapation? I hate my case but its a necessary evil..... id rather not have my phone go nuke.

I'll just throw my two cents in and say that I'm running the oc kernel with Warp Cream Sandwich ROM and have experienced zero problems, no overheating, no Wi-Fi problems, no nothing. Phone gets no warmer than normal even when I'm running it full out @1.612 GHZ while charging the phone and playing Temple Run etc. Hope this helps.

Thanks Krowbarr, I appreciate the response, did you flash Just the oc kernel and what App are you using? setcpu, No frills?
 
OTA support allows you to update the ROM without having to download from the site just the app
Make sure you have the latest on here and flash the OTA support then use that to update WCS

Yes, I just flashed it. I'm using the 1.7 GHZ oc now. For control I'm using Set CPU with profiles. Sorry I didn't get back here sooner, got caught up in the oc thread and life lol..
 
Hey Jet thanks for the ROM it's great. I was just curious if you were still working on it or is that the finished product?
 
Im not done with it... i temporarily discontinued it due to my workn on project yoshi... i will resume my developement soon

I tried what you suggested and nothing happened ....if I reset my phone back to stock...."non rooted" would that fix it....this is getting more and more frustrating !! HELP

No, because it needs to sync to the network to adjust the time. That should have done the trick. What exactly did you do? Maybe I could help walk you through it.
 
It requires a proper installation of busybox and a script to make it work. I have that all in one as a package if anyone is interested
 
Hey guys, sorry if this was already asked and answered earlier in the thread... I don't have time to trawl through it like I'd like to, as I'm at work.

Anyway - I just installed this ROM (v1.6) and I like it a lot... however, Wi-Fi is completely broken. When I try to enable it, it just says 'Error'. What gives?

Also, the OTA update... do I just download that, rename it to 'update.zip', and restore with Clockwork Mod? Will that fix the Wi-Fi issue? Other than that, I'm really happy with this ROM. :D

I've been on wcs for a long time. Never any wifi issues. Were you on a different rom prior to this?
 
Yeah - the latest version of Shinjitsu, with the non-overclocked kernel. Before that, I was on Shinjitsu with the overclocked kernel... and before that, stock.

I would go back to CWM wipe data, cache, and dalvik. Then flash the ROM again. Maybe throw a fix permissions in there as well. Jet had Wi-Fi working perfectly on 1.6 the last time I was on it. All you flashed was the ROM right? Didn't change any build.prop info or init.d scripts?
As far as the OTA thing if I recall correctly there was a zip with the OTA app in it. Not sure if it is in the 1.6 zip or not. But once that all is installed it will check for updates and get you up to 1.6.3
