Root [Boost Mobile] Working ROMS/MODS/KERNELS/MODEMS/ECT for the Boost S3

This is probably in the wrong forum but does anyone know if we can turn the phone upside down (where the microusb is on the top) and still get the screen to orient the right way. I have auto rotate on but the screen does not reorient itself when turned this way. The screen is upside down.

I have done this on a custom rom which was Wicked Sentation ir MOAR I think its called 180 degree rotation my phone was upside down with the home button on top but still same orientation as normal. But it did mess with my gyro for a while so i had to turn it off hope that helps if i find it again ill link it up

Xblast tools also has it under miscellaneous. :D

I bought the Xblast tools donate version but I think the free version over at XDA may have it too. The donate version I have has all kinds of tweaks! ;)

Hello, I was wondering if anyone can offer some suggestions. I am currently on the midnight rom and occasionally I do switch roms. There are some apps in the google play play store that I've purchased but now when I try to redownload, its asking me to repurchase. When I set up a new rom I always log in to my same gmail account, as I know quite a few things are attached to our account. How can I get it to where the play store knows I've purchased them?? Thanks

Where can I find the xblasttools donate version? I love having the ability to tweak as much as possible. Does the xblast version have more tweaks than the wanam (which I currently have installed now) or will the two conflict if I have them both installed at the same time??

If you look under downloads in the Xposed Installer you will see the donate version of Xblast. Be sure you are in the latest version of the installer as that will show you the updated list of available mods.

You can run Wanam and Xblast at the same time. There is some overlap in tweaks between the two. Often there will also be overlap between these apps and the baked in features of your ROM. I usually try to notice these and only select the mod on one of them, but I have doubled up before. Some may cause conflicts and some will not.

Xposed Framework is a truly amazing app. Read the XDA thread for a full explanation.

I think the version of XBlast Tools that can be downloaded for free directly from the Xposed Installer is the same as the paid version from Play Store. There are some differences between it and Wanam. Here are some rules of thumb:

Don't install both at the same time-they have too much overlap in functionality, and you will get some weird issues

If you are running a TW ROM, install Wanam

If you are running an AOSP ROM, install XBlast Tools

Please see this thread for some other Xposed module options:

All Things Mods!

ninja'd!!

struckn makes some good points. I have not had any problems running both together and I am doing so now on MOAR 7. I do try to be careful about the options that I select on each. I only installed xblast this time around for a couple of tweaks that I could not find in Wanam. Luckily. No problems yet...

It is important to read all the info given for an Xposed app before installing. As stuckn stated, some are designed for Touchwiz and others for AOSP. Some are designed for certain hardware models of smartphones.

Recently, I did not read carefully enough and installed an expanded power menu option that would not run with Touchwiz. The result was that I could not swype to unlock the phone! I thought that I was going to have to restore from backup, but I was finally able to get in after a few reboots. I went back and read the description and it emphasized NOT to run it with TW! Boy, did I feel stupid. Could have been worse too, so it is always a good idea to read carefully and make a backup before applying these Xposed tweaks.

My understanding is that ultimately, there is nothing "permanent" or truly harmful that can be done to your phone via Xposed, at least nothing that won't be fixed by restoring a backup. Once again, just something that emphasizes the need to always backup working ROM's!

This may not be the best place to say this, but since we all spend so much time flashing Roms and agonizing over getting data to work, I think that it is somewhat appropriate.

If you have read any Sprint news recently, you know that they are in a massive push to complete their NV / LTE project. I am in one of the many cities getting upgraded. This will apparently take until March.

Obviously, I quickly switched to LTE /CDMA, greedy for all the LTE I can get. This is wonderful when it works and frustrating when it doesn't.

In this state, there are times when the eHRPD that switches between LTE and 3g can take a while to act and.... No DATA until it switches. When there is a strong signal this is not a problem. But at my house, while my signal is improving, it ain't there yet.

So, my conclusion is to keep it switched to CDMA EVDO at my house, and keep a decent 3g while this work is being done. I know that I will be checking the LTE every few days at home and running it on LTE during the week at work.

By March, maybe Sprint will finally have it completed in my general area. I can only hope.

Anyway, many of you are probably in a city that is in Sprint transition. Keep this in mind when you flash a new Rom.

I realized today that we all have been apologists for Sprints crappy signal for years because of the low cost unlimited plans that they offer.

I hope that once they get their network working they remember that.... Lol. What am I saying?

Google "Sprint LTE coverage map" and check out the vast wasteland that is the midwest/Rocky Mountain region where I live!

I hate to rub it in, but I actually have pretty awesome LTE Herr in Nashville. With my S2(E4GT) from Boost, I barely had data at all in my office. Now, with the S3, 4g LTE all the time in it! Sweet

I love living in Colorado, but Nashville is on my short list of places I would leave Colorado for, the handful of times I have visited I have just loved it. Wonderful place full of wonderful people! Just needs some more craft breweries to complement Yazoo, but the heritage of whiskey in the area makes up for that in my book!

Nashville is a Cool City. I am sure that the Ghost of Elvis makes sure that the LTE is at the Max at all times. Lol. Savannah, on the other hand, is not so lucky.. Yet. But it is getting better and at least they have some sort of plan.

What really hurts is that Brunswick, GA is officially LTE since October 31st. If you have ever been there you will understand. Lol.

They don't put all this stuff on a coverage map until they do an official announcement. I just happened to be playing with my mobile settings about 2 weeks ago and LTE appeared. I could not believe it.

Whenever I am running JD's stock/Knox-free ROM, the initial boot after restore shows the LTE symbol instead of 3G for about five seconds, and then it goes away. Don't know if this is just a tease or what, maybe a promise of things to come. When I zoom in on my specific area of Colorado on the coverage map, it is sad how few towers Sprint even has in the area. On the plus side, I almost always have full bars at home because one of those handful of towers is really close! Keeping my fingers crossed!

I used to never get that LTE signal. When I saw it the first time and ran a speedtest, there was no doubt. About a week later in the old run down Broughton Street of Downtown Savannah I got 20Mbs Down. But that will not last.

I read recently that on a TW Rom, the bars are for phone signal strength and on an AOSP Rom, they are for Data Signal. Not sure if this is true, but I am running MOAR 7.01 and I am starting to get 3-4 bars, but that has nothing to do with my speedtest readings.

Go to about phone and see if it says eHRPD instead of EVDO. Of Course this is With LTE selected in mobile networks. I don't remember seeing this a few months ago. It may not be able stay on 4G now, but it is a step in the right direction.

Wow! Looks like the thread blew up while I was asleep for awhile. Lmao.

As for the free Xblast, just Google Xblast tools XDA. You'll get a link in the search results

When I originally heard about Xblast Tools, I didn't know there was a free version so I bought the paid one from Play. No biggie though. Nothing wrong with helping a developer out.

As for running Wanam and Xblast together, if you don't know what you're doing, stick with one or the other as was mentioned earlier or you will run into some conflicts. Personally, I run both with Wicked Sensations 4.3. I'm just very careful and watch what I'm doing.

As for 4g, i know Bakersfield which is an hour away will be getting it eventually. No telling when I'll get it where I live. Thank goodness for cable Internet and a router. :D

I have them both installed, I am just very careful what I engage, if I don't know what it is, I leave it alone.

You're doing good then. A lot of people get themselves into trouble by messing with settings that they have no idea what they do. Then they start wondering why their phone is acting weird. Lmao.

It's good you're being careful since you're running both. You can get some serious conflicts using both of those apps together.

There are threads for both. If you need information on what something does, those threads are the places to find your answer.

If I can remember tomorrow , I'll add the links to the Wanam and Xblast Tools threads to the informational section of this thread. It sure won't hurt anything since Xposed Framework has become so popular and these apps are being used more often now.
