Root [Boost Mobile] Working ROMS/MODS/KERNELS/MODEMS/ECT for the Boost S3

Man that Andromizer app does a lot of stuff. You can initiate a Philz or TWRP backup from the app. You can also NAME THE BACKUP FOLDER PRIOR TO THE BACKUP. Which is nice. Of course. TWRP already allows this easily too.

It boots you into recovery, does the backup and boots back. It has a lot of options.

Anything wrong with it, bugs?? From the sounds of it on the xda thread, its working great. Whats your feedback from flashing it??

My problems are more visual than anything else and I hate their screen touch sound. I can change all those things with various themes and mods but it would be more work than it's worth personally. Right now the only 4.4.x ROM I like besides CM11 is CyanFox, but that all goes away when Carbon finally releases their builds.

Well I do have to admit, I am very pleasantly surprised... it looks like StaticPower v2 may be my keeper.

Not only for being a newer build of android and having easy tethering for my DS, it is also giving me the kinda battery life I was looking for. MOAR 6, while being incredibly loaded with features and customization and theming and stuff, it was pretty awful on battery life. Even when I hardly used it, MOAR used close to 40% of battery life per day on my ZeroLemon 7000mAh battery. StaticPower v2 conversely seems to just sip the battery, and lasted about 3.5 days worth of pretty average use. And strangely/thankfully, seems to be in line performance-wise in 3DMark runs while for some reason MOAR 6 seemed to take a performance hit.

:D

Cool. Have to try it. I thought I read on XDA that the dev is going to not maintain it much longer. Am I confusing StaticPower with another ROM?

I liked static power too but hes only releasing one final build and thats it, no more support because he has a different phone now. I'm trying to find a good 4.3 rom that still has active support.

Wicked and M.O.A.R. just started releasing for 4.3.

I would like to try a rom that has mostly everything working, has wifi tether (natively) and has lots of features, has multiwindow and halo, any suggestions??? Does wicked and moar offer those?? In the past when I was on the collective (before I started having data issues) I really liked that rom.

I use MOAR 7 and it runs great. I am also trolling the Wicked thread and it is crazy with activity. Wicked looks the way to go for Themers.

Moar has multiview and tether. Don't think it has halo. But it runs solid now and it is brand new with lots more to be added.

Wicked is officially a beta at this point but seems to be fairly solid too, but I can't vouch for that. Biker can, I am sure.

Halo is an AOSP feature, you will not ever see it on a TW ROM. Must use the Xposed workaround for that. Conversely multi window is a TW feature, it won't be on AOSP Rom's. Wicked and M.O.A.R. both are very solid and have native hotspot. Wicked seems to be a step ahead theming wise.

Is wicked and moar both 4.3 roms?? I would like to try wicked, where can I find that?? I looked in the op but could not find it, unless I overlooked it??

Also, are both these roms TW or aosp?? need to know if I need to flash gapps??

Thanks, I'm on my phone on Tapatalk right now so just basics in my replies!

I found out not long ago that Tapatalk will copy the URL of the thread you are on. I just can't seem to get it to bring up the link in Tapatalk, it goes to the browser.

Also, I have subscribed to both threads in XDA so it is pretty quick to switch between forums and paste.

Yeah I am definitely still learning things on Tapatalk. Really like it in general because I'm not out of the loop for nine or ten hours while I'm at work.

I think that both of these Roms require that you have previously flashed the MK3 modem.

Also some folks have had problems with flashing these Roms with older recoveries. I recommend using Philz. That is the only one that has had no problems as far as I know.

MK5 modem is fine it is suggested in the OP of each ROM because they aren't being designed with Boost/VM in mind, so the info provided will pertain to Sprint items.

Actually, MK3 and TWRP are suggested in the OP for WS 4.3. :D

People using other modems report not getting data. Also, TWRP will flash the mods from MyHub directly from the MyHub app where as with other recoveries you have to boot into the recovery, locate the mod zip and manually flash it.

Started to get some Myhub updates from MOAR 7.01 today! Also, a MOAR 7.1 will be released soon.

I gave ALL the radios a pretty good test today with MOAR, the newest DKP kernel and MK3 modem.

No problems. And that is while riding the Bus and Walking through neighborhoods of all kinds and Business Districts from one end of Savannah to the other. From the River to the Mall. Lol. Passed with flying colors. We even have Wi-Fi on the Bus. But I turn it off to check 3g and LTE upgrade stats with Speedtest.net

Battery was pretty good considering the use I gave it today. As YouTube celebrity Flossy Carter would say :

"MOAR is a definite Go!"

This is a good thing.

This is mostly my bus ride through the old downtown streets of Savannah. The first LTE set up so far. It has looked better. But it had looked much worse.

I'm using MK3 with the 4.3 Wicked Sensations Beta ROM and definitely can see improved reception while staying with the 31104 prl.

You should give the MyHub app mods a try with MOAR too, Wy. Better yet, give the new 4.3 Wicked Sensations ROM a try.

Just a little information I learned and thought I'd share with the rest of you. The DKP kernels that come with the 4.3 Wicked Sensations and MOAR have init. All other DKP kernel builds do not have it. Decimalman let this be known in the 4.3 Wicked Sensations thread. If you are flashing builds directly from the DKP thread then they don't have init. Just thought I'd share this info since many members running the kernel thought it already had init support added.

I have also started using the paid version of Trickster and highly recommend it. Very nice app. ;)
