Root [BOOT ANIMATION] [MOD] COA - Call of Android

lol glad yall have enough bravery to do all this right now :P

I found it's the folder "bin" located in the "system" folder of the zip causing issues because it replaces the bootanimation information file.....GB doesn't like that.

Once I removed that, the zip file installs and runs fine, just no sound.

So what did you remove? I found the folder System>Bin, but it looks like there is a lot in there so I don't think you removed the whole folder.

Install the second flashable zip with no sound from the first post:

Alternate Install instructions: (for the FLASHABLE CW VERSION)
PropagandaDX.zip

So just reflashing this without doing anything else will work for GB???? I want to get this back on my phone but was unsure if it needed to be modified for GB to work.... That droid eye is killing me, lol..

If you already installed the bootani with sound and broke your bootani, then no, it will not fix it......you have to replace the bootanimation info file in /system/bin with the original file to fix that.

I don't use the one with the sound. Just the boot animation. without, so that is cool to use then without changing anything???

I screwed up. I applied the zip without mounting, and ended up with a blank screen after the moto logo. I then went back into cw, chose Mount System, then went back and applied again, and I still get the blank screen. Can someone help a brother out?

nm: Just saw that the sound one doesn't work with GB. Gonna try the one without sound now. Does anyone have a link to the original boot animation just in case I want to go back to a stock loook?

Make sure you are installing the right one first....

PropagandaDX.zip

Just go back into clockwork and install as usual. Shouldn't have to mount the system for this one....

Anyone try to place the audio in the system/media/audio folder? I have placed the bootanation zip there but have not tried the propaganda audio. In theory this should work, correct?

If you have Root Explorer go into Data/Local and see if the bootanimation.zip is in there....

If it isn't then copy and paste it in there and then change the permissions to rw-r-r

boot animation was there, but I think I screwed up. I moved the boot animation file to the sd card and pasted the propaganda zip where boot animation was. That didn't work. Now I've moved boot animation back where it was. Do I paste the propaganda zip INTO bootanimation.zip or just in the same location. I tried adjusting permissions for propaganda.zip as well but I was only able to get rw-r--r--.

You are going to want to rename the Propaganda zip file to bootanimation.zip, Rename the old bootanimation zip to bootanimation.bak if you want or you can delete it. Make sure the permissions of the new renamed propaganda are rw-r--r-- and it should work...

didn't work...I don't get what I'm doing wrong. What exactly should be in the local folder besides bootanimation.zip? I'm trying to narrow down what I could have done. No matter what I do I end up with a black screen until the OS boots up. Right now I'm downloading the file again. I'm going to paste propagandadx.zip into the local folder, rename it bootanimation.zip and change permissions to rw-r--r--. Hopefully that works. Thanks for the help too btw.

There should be a tmp file and a 12m file. Both with permissions set to rwxrwx--x.
