Root Bootloop with no recovery.

Hi I'm new to this forum just aquired an evo 4g and had rooted it with revolutionary hboot 2.16.0001 radio 2.15.00.0808 and it was working then just started bootlooping i tried to flash a new recovery a new rom then unrooted and tried the stock rom from shipped roms and still in the bootloop. Anyone have an idea whats going on? Thanks.

Since the phone is rooted you should post in the All Things Root Section. You will get a lot more help over there. Hopefully a Mod will Move this over there.

Pull Battery. Leave out for like ten seconds and then place battery back in hold volume down + Power should go to bootloader. See if you can access Recovery in there. Also take time to read the guide at the end of my sig. It will help

welcome to the forums!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
what rom were you on when it happened? i would try the latest ruu for 4.54 ota update. it is in the roms/kernel sticky. also what recovery do you have now?

I had amon recovery and was on stock latest rru. I cant get to recovery it just bootloops. All I get is bootloader.

Have you tried pushing a new recovery onto your Evo yet? Sounds like you may have a broken recovery. Do you have a card reader?

ok looks like you are fully unrooted then. and that is one reason why you can't get a custom recovery back on to your phone. the only thing you can do is try the ruu's through bootloader. what is your baseband?

I tried that and no results just bootloop is there a way to s off in bootloader? I wanna try recovery again.

nope. you need to have a phone up and running for revolutionary to work. i would try again with that file and see if it might work this time and if not then there is not much you can do at this point.:(

I do remember when this happened I tried to flash Amon and it'd flash but when I try to go into recovery it would bootloop also and i was rooted then.

Well, if you're completely unrooted, you'd no longer have a custom recovery...We need to get your phone back to a bootable state and reroot it if that's what you're looking to do.

Yes this was a practice EVO I flashed it to boost and was trying to get 3g when this happened i kept getting a nv error in qspt so I rewrote them and then it rebooted and bootloop.

bump.

I am starting to think this is an issue with Revolutionary Root. I am running into the exact same problem. I had updated to the latest RUU which broke my root, gave me 2.16.0001. I used Revolutionary.io to root, was running MIUI.

Boot looping, no recovery. Same s/w, radios etc.

I was able to get it back to 2.16.0001 from 6.16.0002.

Still no luck no matter what recovery, ruu or radios i try to flash.

What? Why were you running an RUU if you're rooted? All you need to do is flash a ROM to do an update, even if you wanted to update a stock rom. Running an RUU will overwrite everything, including your recovery. Do you still have S-OFF? If so, then all you need to do is flash a custom recovery (Amon RA) via the bootloader. If you have S-ON, then you will need to run Revolutionary again.

All you have as your recovery right now is the HTC recovery, which is meant to do one thing....install HTC OTA updates.
