Root Bricked rooted phone???

keep us posted on how that goes or if you have any questions.

so i think the official word on my phone is that it is jacked the **** up.

I already had the recovery files downloaded and installed but according to the steps in the instructions i still need to access them on my phone and that's not an option right now. (not according to mu boot menu any way) and i cant access it through my computer because its not recognizing it now. any ideas?

sorry not sure what you mean.

in step 2 of the HTCdev method, the adb method is the easiest. you basically need the three files that are in the guide in the android folder. you also need to pull the recovery.img file from the amon ra2.3 zip file that you extracted. once you have those files in the android folder then in the bootloader you need to select fastboot. once the phone is in fastboot then you go to the command window and fastboot command the recovery.img to your phone.

all of this is in the guide. you do not have to have the phone booted up or anything. this is all done in fastboot on the phone.

ok so i try following the instructions in step two but i run into one snag... my computer is not registering that i even have the phone plugged in. is there a way around this? or am i stuck. do i just need an SD card reader fort my computer?

in step 2 you do not need to have the computer see the phone. the phone needs to be in fastboot (go to bootloader and select fastboot, it should change to fastboot usb). then use the fastboot command to install the recovery.

I think once he selects fastboot and plugs his phone in, it should look like this...(nevermind what it says at the top of the pic) thanks to Capt for this pic on the mikmik

that is correct

ok i have an idea lets see if this works.

1.download this file: PC36IMG_SuperSonic_GB_Sprint_WWE_4.67.651.3_Radio_2.15.00.12.19_NV_2.33_release_234563_signed.zip
2.delete everything but the PC36IMG part.
3.move the file to the sd card. you will most likely need a card reader. do not put it in a folder, just on the card.
4.next go to the bootloader.
5.hopefully if the file is named right, it should see it and ask you if you want to update, select yes.
6.reboot

this is a ruu. my hope is that it will change the hboot so that you will have fastboot usb function that you should have.

I will try this but first i need to get the card reader... a job for tomorrow. thank you for the help i will keep you updated.

The only difference is mine says unlocked and there is nothing after the fastboot.

It only says fast boot not fast boot usb
So tell me if I understand this correctly, when you choose fastboot, and the fastboot comes up, you plug phone into computer but fastboot does not change to fastbootusb?
Can a different usb cord or usb port help?

ok i now have fastboot usb!!

now what do i do? lol

nevermind. got it going on now backing up /restoring as i type!

now all you need is to fastboot command the recovery.img file and you should have recovery. once you have recovery then you can try and flash a rom and see if we can get the phone to a working state.

ROM is flashed and everything is working as ot should be...almost. does anyone know where i can download the play store? It's not working right and didn't finish upgrading from the android market to the play store. But every thing else is working fine now. Thanks for the help again every guys.
