Yeah, I was looking for a good quality post. It is easy to say Install SDK and the drivers, open a command prompt and flash this file...blah, blah, blah but that isn't very helpful. There are people that know SO much more about this stuff than I do...I'm still a noobie with this stuff and just learned about it (I'm not a linux guy) when I had to root my droid. I'm still learning as I go.
Good luck. You WILL find it useful in the future (adb) and is necessary to do certain functions. That's why I say the "easy" way of doing things isn't always the best way...there is a lot you miss out on. Don't worry, that's not a slam on you but I've run into "heated" conversations about it. Bottom line...You should know what you are doing to your phone before you do it. Kudos to you for being a 'noob' without the entitlement attitude!

You'll find that people are much more willing to help if you take the "I'd like to learn" vs. the "Can you do this for me" attitude
