But how is the CALL QUALITY???

Was at the Verizon store this afternoon fondling the G3 and I decided to call my mom on it to see how the call quality was. I could hear her fine, but she said she said that she had a hard time hearing me. Has anyone else heard similar things from people they have been talking to?

I had trouble on a call to VZW customer service, I couldn't hear them very well, and they said I was breaking up. But later I called my wife and didn't have any problems. So jury is still out for me on that subject.

I made two calls with mine yesterday. First one I could hear them fine and received no complaints from their end. Second, I was connected to bluetooth and once I found the setting to turn up the volume (the rear rockers didn't work), it was a little quiet, but that could have been their phone, but fine.

More reports would be appreciated. I'm deciding between the G3 and M8, coming from a RAZR Maxx HD where radios are the greatest strength.

FWIW,the brief time I had the T-MOBILE G3,call quality was top-notch.
Same goes for the G2 & FLEX on T-MOBILE.

IMHO,LG has the best call quality.
Of course, just as with other features & specs,YMMV,but I think LG & T-MOBILE deserves PROPS in the call quality department.

I came here looking to see if others had the problem too...

My wife just got her G3 from Verizon the other day and she just called me from it for the first time. The sound is muffled sounding. Like something is clogging up the microphone, or that there is an aggressive noise canceling feature causing it. She couldn't find a setting to disable any noise canceling features.

I'll have to look at it when she gets home later tonight.

I am on Verizon and was told I sound muffled. Going to have to make some more test calls. Call quality is very big deal to me. Vibration level is pretty bad on this phone even at the highest settings. Vibration level is not a deal breaker but call quality would be.

The Razr Maxx with VZW seems to have that issue as well. Not as clear as the S4 when calling. I tested everything BUT calls on the G3. Perhaps same for a lot of other folks that actually own the device :)

Once the pixie dust wears off all becomes apparent. Hopefully an easy fix!

Verizon screwed the Note 3 up with recent updates.... Bad Red, bad!

I'll tell you guys this. I use my phone for work and it has to have great call quality. And I did get a couple complaints. But they were all fixed as speaking.

The customer would tell me "I can't hear you" or "you sound muffled" or "your not coming in clear" etc etc

EACH time it was my mouth position. The second I held the phone normally so my mouth was where it should be they all said "I can hear you perfect now".

So if you hold the phone where it should be the sound is great. But I think we should be able to be off a little bit. I didn't have it that far off. It was like when you hold the phone with your cheek and shoulder. I'd say I had the receiver about three inches away from my mouth. Again, it still should come in good. But I do know if you hold it right where a phone is supposed to be held, they all told me it cleared right up. I guess I can't be lazy when using this phone.

But I wouldn't give it up for the world. This and the G2 are the best phones I have ever had. Can't be beat to me. I buy every phone the second they come out. But I could care less about that once I got the G2. I only got the G3 because of how good the 2 was. I love this phone and see me not wanting anything else in the near future

So if you hold the phone where it should be the sound is great.

Been watching this thread with great interest as call quality is the most important feature of a phone for me. I only have a cell phone and it's for business.

Since I always use a BT headset, this holding the phone in the proper position shouldn't be an issue and my call quality should be fine. Still interested in hearing from others about call quality especially if they're using a BT headset.

I have already calls and it is clear for me. No problems at all. I also use bluetooth via the car and it is fine as well..

The G3 is back in the running, now. The VZW tech at the store said that the reason the launcher stuttered in the store was because the vzw demo bloat is extra husky in ram size. I tried it again and put it back to back with the s5. It wasn't as dim as I thought and the s5 looked cartoony compared to the g3 (saturated). The viewing angles were terrible compared to the s5. That's an amoled v. lcd issue, I know, but the colors were more real on the g3. Call quality is very very important to me too, as I use my phones for my business. However, I'm thinking the the peeps using the phone 3 inches away getting muffles are dealing with the noise cancellation feature kicking in, imo. Looking for more info (subscribed.)

Call quality has been good for me. Both with car BT and from the handset. Earpiece volume seemed a tad low the first time I made a call but then my wife mentioned she had a sore throat LOL. As a phone, this seems to work just fine for me.

I have had the phone for a week and literally have not had a single call.

On art all is clear for me I would think the cell service at the time of tour call was the issue.

People I have called have shared with me when I put my G3(VZW) on speaker they cant hear me. The speaker feature is something i use A LOT when working/multi-tasking at home from my iPhone 5 days, so I have to find a fix with this or my G3 will be short lived in my arsenal.

bluetooth headset?

I made 1 call. The person on the other end asked if I was at the store or in a warehouse. I was at home where I usually talk to this person from. Not for this reason but I already returned my phone.
