Root Buying a App from Google Market then Changing ROMs?

jericko

So I have never purshcansed a app from the Google Market, I always use Amazon as I like how it links to my account.

When I update my Rom, I notice all my Google market apps are gone from the market. So how do you buy a app from the Google Market and have it when you change ROMs?

Also, if you buy a app from Google Market, can you use it on both your phone and tablet? (Amazon does)

Thanks
Jason

it should be found under my apps in the market settings menu. and yes if you bought you can use it on both devices. anyways you can just use titanium backup to backup your apps and data and then flash the rom and restore your apps and data with tb.

I don't have a tablet so I don't know the answer to that one.

Regarding your apps, first off get titanium backup, free and buy the pro licence too. copy your apps when you get it and you can restore user apps and their associated data with tb pro.

The google market DOES know what you have purchased with the phone though, has on all the roms I have been on, anyway.

One tip is to use an app called appsaver and have it put tb and tb pro on your sd card. then when you flash a new rom you can navigate into that appsaver folder with your file explorer program and just install them from there. Then use them to restore your apps.

actually tb has an update.zip feature where you can create the update zip then in recovery you flash the rom and then flash the update.zip in the same session and you will have tb already for you to go when you boot up. you need the pro key for that though.

I read that, made the zip and tried it and I couldn't get it to work.

that is my own little dw77 workaround. :p

Might ought to try it again.

Well I bought the app on my Phone, and when I went to my tablet, it wanted me to buy it again even though my Google Market is linked to my same Gmail account.

it might be different with tablets and the market. i can buy an app on my evo 3d and then go into my og evo and able to download the app without having to buy it again.

are you using the same account on your tablet as you are on your phone?

Thanks for the help all. Here is how I got it fixed, went to the Web Version of the Google Market from my PC and push the install the both my tablet and phone once I paid.

Thanks for the help!

I use both TB and Astro Filemanager backup. I like to have a back up of the apk in case something goes wrong like tb gets corrupt or something. I do keep a fresh copy of tb on the drop box.
