I think what Rastaman means is that this specific version of yous software is not available. Stock HTC roms are though. What's your pvt as quoted in fastboot?
 
What does it ACTUALLY say in HBOOT? PVT1, PVT3, PVT4?

You'll be fine regardless but better to be safe
 
Ok well you know what to do cause you read the faq.

In light of no ruu you would need to create a gold card for restoring purposes. If you need to run a generic ruu.

I think there is a 2.1 tmo ruu isn't there?

If so, teppics downgrade tool will work.
 
Should have made myself clearer, what version is your PVT? Goto fastboot at the top of the screen.

EDIT: Do I mean HBoot?

Because if its PVT4, it can be either erase size 20k or an erase size 40k. If its 20k, no problem. If its 40k, different methods.

He skipped answering the PVT4 bit (as he read the FAQ) and knew to check erase size - which he did.

Thank you. Im sure erase size is 20000 after running that command at adb shell.

So i need to make goldcard and then proceed to rooting. :D
 
read the goldcard tool making stuff..seems a bit complicated and if something goes wrong while rooting, bricking phone is very likely.

I may have to give up rooting
 
Haven't known anyone brick their phone simply by rooting. The main thing is not to interupt the rooting process by unplugging cables or removing power.

Other than that, its generally quite safe.

I can't boot into recovery, there is no RUU for my carrier and I don't have a gold card

Uh oh. Crying and pleading to your gods may well be your only chance now.

this made me to think like that :D

btw can I use the same Sd card for goldcard as well as rooting/flashing rom etc?
