Root Can I root my phone

made goldcard.

installed hboot driver windows

restarted phone and connected(usb debugging mode) in charge only mode..clicked unrevoked flash

but it says "waiting for device " and does nothing??

did you install then uninstall htc sync? What guide have you followed? The one in my faq is good.

and the root guide I mentioned? Have you clicked the link in that about checking drivers in device manager? Have you got no yellow exclamation marks?

yes mate, I followed the guides you suggested.

I uninstalled htc sync and installed hboot drivers..saw "android bootloader interface"

restarted phone and removed usb.

now I connect phone again with usb in debug mode and start reflash.

Am I missing something?

Now in normal mode, when I see Device Manager->it shows unknown device in other devices

but hboot drivers installed fine in hboot mode..hmm

installed rom manager, but cant install clockwork..it keeps saying "error occured while download your recovery"

any idea??

Is root working otherwise? Can you enter clockwork recovery by booting while pressing volume down button (the selecting recovery), and run other apps which require superuser permissions (e.g. Titanium Backup)?

If so, tbh my advice is not to bother with ROM manager. You can do everything it does using the clockwork recovery that unrevoked installed, apart from partitioning SD card (and there are other solutions for that).

sadly, I wanted to use that for partitioning sdcard

may be I should try gparted or partition softwares on my vista.

GParted is the recommended solution. I have a feeling that windows can't make ext partitions.

I just tried ROM manager myself, including trying different versions of clockwork, and get the same error. There's also a recent thread on XDA with the same problem. So it might just be that their servers are up the spout at the moment.

i 2nd that, rom manager is nothing but trouble. Use gparted or flash amon ra recovery which i think can partition your card. (think somebody will confirm this). Gparted is the preferred as it aligns partitions correctly.

before flashing any rom, i must make sd card partition for app2sd+.

I downloaded RA amon recovery.img and placed it in sdcard root folder

then terminal emulator-> it says flash_image not found. Im still using sense ROM.
