Hello all, I have a Sprint Evo 4g that i am trying to move over to boost which was going just fine until i allowed the phone to restart after copying over the 465, 466, 1192, and 1194 nv files after the restart i have nothing but the white screen reboot cycle... i have spent two entire days trying to at the very least bring this phone back to life with no success. every method i've tried works up until its time to reboot to recovery at which time the reboot cycle begins??? I wanted to suprise my boyfriend with a new rooted cool phone but its looking more like a cool lookin paper weight.. any ideas what ive done wrong? it reads:

Welcome to AF! I am sorry to hear you are having problems.
However, are you following this guide?
http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/460035-evo-4g-boost-mobile-guide-evo-3d.html

I am not that knowledgeable about flashing phones, so you may want to post in that forum, or read thru it. It may help you:)

Hello and thanks for the quick respone.... yes i followed the tut. but once the phone asked is i wanted to restart to apply NV write its been stuck reboot since..... at this point i will be happy returning to stock lol...

Grab a flashable zip that you can flash from the bootloader.

You can get into bootloader. Put the appropriate file on the SD card and get back into the bootloader. It'll take a while for the bootloader to see and analyze the file. After it is done it'll ask you if you want to flash it. You do. Flash it and it'll put the phone back into "stock".

After you get it booting then you can worry about flashing it over to Boost. Do not try to do it by the process mentioned in the thread. The memory location zeroing out method is just an accident waiting to happen. Look into "open sesame door" method or "Evo 3d" method once you get your phone booting.

Sorry this happened. Good luck.

PS: Mike give her a hand and see if you can point her to the location of the flashable zips which has a full stock os in it. The should be in the form of PC36IMG.zip

Can do when I get home:D. Thanks kolosus

Edit: @powdafresh.
Download this: (to your computer)
http://d-h.st/n1U

Now, rename the file to PC36IMG.zip
If you are using windows, it will hide the file extensions (.zip), so be very sure you are not adding an extra ".zip" to the end, otherwise it will not work.
Then, transfer to your sd card, not in any folder on the sd card, put it on the "root" of the card.
Pull your battery, wait several seconds, then re-insert battery.
While holding the volume down button, press/hold the power button until your bootloader screen comes up.
Bootloader will scan your card for any PC36IMG files and it will find the one you just put on there.
It will ask you to update. You will say yes....then reboot.
Mind you that you will lose data/contacts/sms/mms/apps etc if not backed up to Google or sd card.
Your bootloader will still be unlocked/s-on.
You will also lose your custom recovery but that can be put back later.
When you are done with the flash, either delete, or rename that PC36IMG file. If you don't, bootloader will scan, and find it again....you dont need that anymore.
After successful flash, you can install a custom recovery....did you unlock the bootloader yourself?
If so, did you install a custom recovery? If so, just repeat how you did it, otherwise we can help you to get one after your "return to stock"

NV is certain death. it's why it is very important to read guides and ask questions before starting any process that is going to change the phone. to many lovely phones have met there death do to someone not posing questions before they started. People not asking a veteran to help with the process when and if it becomes needed. Veterans can help you with guides that are "PROVEN" to work. Hopefully this phone has not met its certain death.

Thank guys you all rock!!!!!! i was close to jumping off the Bridge!!!! loader.

sorry you committed phone suicide but at least you learned a valuable lesson. NEVER MESS WITH NV. Nothing is worth risking the health of a good phone for.

yeah anytime you miss a step that is not good. i always print out any guide that i use and then check mark each step. i always like to play it safe.

sorry to hear about your phone. i wish we can do more for you.

Try to cheer you up a little:rolleyes:

Don't suppose Sprint could do any magic with it?

I was gonna say that too. If your account with Sprint is in good standing/have some sort of warranty, I'm certain they could replace your phone.

It's nearly impossible to tell how the phone got in that condition
