I installed the soundgate and love the size of it but having a heck of a time getting the disc to stick to the back of the black and red gradient case. I let it sit for a few hours and worked for about 2 hours then popped off. I tried some outdoor double stick tape thinking that would hold even better but it only lasted taking the phone in and out twice. Thought bout superglue but the disc has to sit up a bit. If I can find something that holds this its a great setup. Any suggestions. Thanks

I have the GEL case and it's holding very well...It was hard to "feel" how it went in and out of the mount, but after a bunch of times doing and knowing where to position, it's all good.

I am expecting my Tetrax Xway Monday.

Ordered the XWAY from Thinkgeek on Thursday and got it on Friday! Something that I found is that it comes with FOUR mounting disks...one small disk, one medium disk, and two large disks. Also, one of the large disks has a thicker adhesive on it (probably for more difficult surfaces). I put the medium one on my Storm and kept the others for when I get the Incredible. Hopefully, I will be able to use the small disk on the Incredible.

BTW, the mount fits fine in my Pontiac Torrent. Not much ability to change the angle, but that's fine.

Nice... PICS!!!!

Here are some quick shots (running Trapster). I haven't gone for a drive with it yet, but I'll report back when I do. I drive almost daily down a pretty rough road. If it can handle that, it should be able to handle just about anything.

Sadly, the excessive heat here in Florida caused my M2 to fall apart during my demo drive to show my brother how cool it was:( Specifically, I have a Verizon silicone case and the adhesive holding the button attachment fell off. Fortunately the phone didn't go crashing onto the ground or anything because the wires held it up.

Anyone know of a good adhesive that I can use to re-attach the button to the case? I have tried gorilla glue in the past (to my old bodyglove case) with no success. Is there some super duper double sided adhesive that sticks well in heat?

Thanks.

I have the same issue. Mine is not sticking that well either (I have the verizon red hard case). I tried using double sided carpet tape, but it still comes off. There seems to be too much friction when rotating the phone while attached to the mount. The disc catches/gets stuck in the mount slot and you end up twisting and pulling the phone off with the disc still stuck in the slot.

Really annoying...

I'll probably try some superglue after I let this tape cure some more and try again.

Any ideas?!

I was having the issue too of the disc falling off of my black and red gradient case 3 different times. I recleaned it with rubbing achol and put some double stick tape and a few drops of super glue on it also. I've tried a few times and seems to be holding well. Gonna give it some time to dry good and retry it. I like that the disc is little so you can still put it in in your pocket with out it catching.

The Xway uses 3M brand double sided tape. I've not had any adhesion issues on my case. It's 100% prep. I cleaned with rubbing alcohol, let it air dry, then held the button in my hand for a few minutes to try and soften the tape before applying it.

Update on the M2 mount:

I had trouble getting the disc to stick to the phone and ended up using part of a phantom skinz on the phone, then putting the disc on that. It worked okay and gave me enough time to decide I really like the small size, stability, and design of the mount.

So, I ended up super-gluing the disc directly on the back of the phone. It's so small the phone still can be set camera side down no problem and it is the same matte black color, so it blends pretty well. Very happy with the M2 right now.

I have been using google maps to show my position as I drive around. It's nice as I'm new to my area. One thing would help though:

Is there any way to get google maps to show your position and have direction of travel always moving up the screen when you're not in nav mode?

I'm not questioning the hold. I'm just saying I don't want to glue a disc to the back of my case. Just a preference. Looking at the vent mounts.

Yeah, i agree, i want a vent mount for my incredible since i have yet to get a case and don't want some magnet on the back of it. but, it seems like that mount you found earlier is one of the only ones available, period.

BTW, the disks for the Tetrax mounts are not magnets. Also, BBs use magnets to put them into sleep mode when you put them in cases. If I pressed the magnet on the mount against the back of the Storm in just the right spot (towards the bottom of the Storm), I could get it to enter sleep mode. Otherwise, the magnet isn't strong enough to put it into sleep mode unless the magnet is placed on the front of the Storm.

Just some anecdotal information about the strength of the Tetrax magnets.

I just ordered it. Found a good site that was selling it with shipping for a little under $20. I'll report back when i get it.

They are magnets, just covered / shielded.

I ordered the FIX from tetrax and the XWAY from thinkgeek. I received my thinkgeek order the day after ordering, the tetrax order hasn't even shipped out yet.

I even put double sided carpet tape on my phone AND on the mounting disc. I waited and let it cure overnight and it still doesn't stick!!! Whats more is that the adhesive for the base of the mount starts to peel off when the dashboard gets hot!!!

I really really like the M2 (I have used vent mounts and they are cheapo crap that is bulky and ugly and flimsy). I am willing to use superglue on my case, but I can not superglue my dash

A few drops of superglue worked to hold the disc to the phone but I'm with you when it comes to putting glue on the dash. I hope mine holds up in the heat cause I like the way it works.

I installed the Soundgate M2 the other day in my 2010 Mazda CX-9 Touring. I then saw this Tetrax XWAY and had to have. Here are some pics. I love it.

You can check out my install of the Soundgate M2 Media Mount here.

I may sell my M2 (maybe $20), but you'd need to order a install kit, for like $3. I have 1 disk left, if you want more you'd have to order this as well, also $3. If your interested, PM me.

Oh yeah, I drove a bumpy road this morning and the Tetrax mount had no problem holding onto my Storm.

We have a bunch of shipping foam here at work, I attached phone to the XWAY and literally shook as hard as I could OVER the foam, and it did not come off. When taking off the mount, you slide to left or right, comes off.

I LOVE THIS THING!!!!!!!!!
