Root [CDMA] {CDMA} [LINARO][Rom][11/21/12][JB 4.1.2]ParanoidAndroid 2.99 Official

Oh freaking woop. Yay lol

Is 2.55 just one rom or is it for both versions?

Just do like I did. It worked fine. Make a data backup before flashing. After flashing just restore data. Then you can even bypass the initial rom setup which I know you will appreciate since you messed up your screen :p

Actually there's only been 2 roms I couldn't get past the Welcome screen on. Never been a problem with the pa series.

Brian go ahead and up that avatar I gave you :p

I just saw it! I know you hate my avatar so much. I like the one you sent me, but i love the 8 bit. :p I might change my avvy altogether. I love old school Mario, but i might change directions completely

New release OP updated,

I tired to stay up late like the boys, but could nor anymore, lol :p:D

Changelog:

-18/11/12
-Official Build
-PA upstream
-OPTIMIZED w/PING OPT
-0 Apps/Framework Comressed
-Ten times more snappy and faster due to this optomization
-Attempted a last minute video playback fix (hope it works for all)

Also remember as I mentioned this will work 90% of the time, if he changes something in the boot partition or something more relevant, you will have issue.

I would still upload it, you might like it, give it a shot, I have gone this far to find you one, LOL

How are you liking the ROM so far ?? Anything different you can notice.

What happened with your WiMax logs, did they continue, or did not because you could not connect.

DS, thanks for the Congrats. It was a surprise. Not the reason why I stay up late last night though, was watching UFC LOL :smokingsomb:

I haven't done the even newer update yet. He hadn't posted it yet and I finally went to bed.

Oops after I flashed that test build and restored my WiMax was off again. After I flash the new version I will turn on WiMax again!

Are you implying that one can flash the ROM without wiping installed apps, or am I misunderstanding your guys' convo?

What I did was before flashing, go into recovery, make an advanced backup of data. Then after wiping and flashing the rom, boot back into recovery and advanced restore the data backup. Then your home screens will be put back together and you will have all apps and data.

Like DonB said, this won't work 100% of the time if certain things in the roms build have changed. But I have done this over the last two updates with no problems! Really cuts back on setup time

Sort of, if you scroll back a page or so you will see what I described, before wiping, you create a data back in the advance of the 4EXT, that backups all your data on your phone, of course you do your Nandroid as you always would, then once done, you will do your FR and then you will wipe all your partitions except your SD card, then you flash the Rom and Gapps, then boot back into recovery and then restore your data in the advance section and all should be exact as you had it, 95% of the time. There are exception if something has changed in the Boot section etc... I don't do this much anymore as I don't flash every update, and I only keep 3 pages, so it takes 15 minutes to actually set them up, I also use RomToolBox to restore my apps with data. This worked when I did it, so should also for you if you are using 4EXT

Also dragonslayer95 and johnny124, i put together an icons pack for 2.55. The camera icon wouldn't update on this version because they switched to the new 4.2 camera. It's nice. Here is the link if you (or anyone) wants it.

Ok don. Same as the last build. As soon as I enable WiMax it creates a log. That is the only log it makes though....

OK, thanks, so then once connected then it most likely keeps making logs which is weird. I had almost 3000 at one time, ate up about 850 MB's

I have not installed 2.55 yet I will wait for more info and he gets video working first.

This sounds awesome. So this is really about saving your homescreens, right? You still have to do an apps+data back/up restore with, say, TB, or RomToolBox? What's FR, btw? And finally, when you're talking about wiping the partitions, you're not talking about doing the wipe data/factory reset option in 4EXT, but the "Format all partitions (except sdcard)" option?

Granted I've never went this route, it sounds as if restoring data from a previous nand brings your phone practically to the state of before you flashed with apps, home screens, etc. Of course after you do a restore with tb probably.

FR is factory reset as well.

Wiping all what you hear is FR, wipe cache and dalvik cache. So yes the format all partitions except the sd card so yes that's what he's talking about.

I didn't even have to restore any of my app backups first. I just did the data restore through recovery and it set everything up for me
