Root [CDMA] Moto G Stock 4.4.4 and 5.1 Soak Tests {Boost Mobile}

I was using stock 4.4.4 before the wipe. Also, I don't quite understand the partition updater thing you mentioned. Is there a download for the partition?

CWM is the recovery im using. the recovery is up to date also. But, this wifi problem happened to all the roms ive tried... =(

Were you on original factory stock 4.4.2 and updated to 4.4.4 by OTA update or with one of SuperR's 4.4.4 stock ROM zips?

I was on original 4.4.2 and updated to 4.4.4 by OTA update.

The moto g randomly shut off and went into bootloop. I cleared cache and dalvik, now its on same issue with starting service freeze reboot.

Unless someone else has a better idea, look up a few posts before your first here, someone was just given a link to his to restore stock firmware. I would try restoring 4.4.2 original firmware with fastboot, and then 4.4.4 and if it still doesn't work, there may be something wrong with your phone. Just make sure you read everything good so you don't mess anything up.

I get a status error 7 when trying to install one of the roms have tried 3 of these roms so far and same error

that my supposedly my device is a xt1034 when its a xt1031

Edit never mind fixed it had to edit the updater script :)

You are probably using a recovery built for the xt1034. If you have an xt1031, try one of the recoveries I posted recently and you should be good.

NOTE: Your device needs to have already been updated to 4.4.4 before using this ROM. If you have not updated to 4.4.4 (KXB21.14-L1.57), you will need to flash this partition updater AND the rom of choice.

NOTE2: This zip is unsigned so you may need to disable signature verification in CWM before flashing.

NOTE3: Your device must have CWM/custom recovery to flash ROMs.

Flash in CWM as follows:
  1. Download ROM
  2. Put the ROM on your internal sdcard or flash drive if you have an OTG cable
  3. Reboot to CWM Recovery
  4. MAKE A BACKUP!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Wipe data/Factoy reset
  6. Install ROM zip from sdcard or usbdisk
  7. Reboot
  8. Enjoy!

Hey question. I have a "sacrificial lamb" Moto G that currently has the soak test 5.0.2 that you helped make available on this site. I want to knock it back down to 4.4.4, however I believe you said something on the lines that there would be a problem because of the LP Bootloader and that damned ripple effect. Would I run into issues if I down graded this phone back to 4.4.4?

You can go back to 4.4.4. You can either flash one of SuperR's zips or restore a 4.4.4 backup, but you will have the screen ripple. All you need to do though is turn the screen off and back on and it goes away.
Edit: just don't flash the 4.4.4 partition updater or anything else to try downgrading the bootloader or you will have a brick!

I figured I would have a brick if I downgraded the bootloader. But thanks.

Here is a treat...Boost Moto G 1st Gen Lollipop 5.1 Soak Test :)

I have not tested the partition updater because I took the update so my partitions are already updated. I do not know if this rom will work without updating the partitions so please try and let us know. I must say, this update is VERY nice ;)

They sure love sticking with the legacy launcher for the original g don't they? Lol its not bad just wish they'd update the launcher to match there other devices now. That and I think the new version of the messaging app has material design now. Not sure why they stuck the old messaging app with a new icon just on this update.

I flashed a GPe for XT1032, now I'm on 41.1A bootloader. I tried your partion zip and the 5.1 zip, it tells me I'm a XT1032 device now. Modding the updater script to skip the assert, it flashes fine but then it doesn't boot past the GPe unlock screen. CM12 Falcon nightly boots fine, the GPe for XT1032 has a deep sleep->reboot issue.
Any ideas on how to get back to stock and then soak?

Should I flash this first?

Make sure your /data partition is formatted back to f2fs after running GPE which is ext4 /data.

Ah, did not think of that. Indeed it is still ext4, as I have not formatted the entire partition (/sdcard/) since GPe.
Luckily CM12.1.1 is running extremely smooth for the time being, possibly smoother than my Moto X on 5.1 OTA.
