Root ClockWorkMod

I mentioned the bootstrap thing pages ago but my post was like ignored or something idunno. And as for my "are we there yet?" thing. I was just pointing it out how funny some of these ppl are that just keep asking over and over when it will be here. No need to get hasty and irritated with me, just trying to make a laugh as were all patiently/impatiently waiting for Drew to reply. :]

Hopefully it is sooner than later because unless we can get a custom ROM on here that is better than the stock my Elite will be going back to VMUSA and I will be going back to my Optimus V. I was outside of the house from 6:30pm-8:15pm and my Elite dropped from 64% battery to 2% in that time because of TWS and 104 errors.

Mine does that on occasion.. Battery will either drain fast or I can be in an area with full signal and for no reason signal will drop out for a few seconds and come right back on to a full signal

Did it sound like I was being impatient? You guys should chill out.
 
I don't really know about how often to check, nobody does. I do not think it's bad you or anyone ask those questions on ETAs, we are all curious. I think some people need to stop coming in here ever 3 days asking for an ETA, but one time is not bad. In summary, until Drew pops in or someone relays an official message from him, we do not know how often to check, most of us just check 3 times a day, once at every meal :D

there's nothing wrong with asking. people want to know,or else there wouldn't even be a topic on it. as for asking irritating anyone,i dont see how it could.

If I could predict the future I wouldn't be here. Asking for ETAs, "estimates" and the like is actually somewhat annoying as there is no possible way to "estimate" when something will get done. That said, I haven't made much progress yet. Also been busy with work and other more important matters.
 
That's ok Drew. Don't let them get to you. Take as much time as you need, man. Most of us are waiting patiently. Working on fixing a few friends phones anyways. I thibk everyone should just keep themselves occupied, and let Drew do his thing, and be patient. We appreciate what you're doing for the community, Drew. :]
 
Well no you were being impatient or you hadn't read the past posts, because it's already been made clear several times that nobody has any idea when it will be done until it is done, so even if you didn't mean it to come across as that it's what it appears, if I was drew I may have just thrown the phone to the back of the desk after reading all the posts in this thread. Whenever I'm doing things for people on their computer if all I hear is "when's it going to be done" "how much longer" "whats taking so long" I instantly stop putting my full effort into it due to annoyance. Beyond that it's quite annoying for those of us who are patiently waiting because you making all of us look like a bunch of children and filling up the thread with useless posts.

@Drew, take your time and ignore the children, there are quite a few of us sitting here waiting patiently, there are some of us that are thankful for what your doing for us.

well sorry if asking is annoying you or drew. but you know its comin...people are going to ask. not read the whole thread. on and on. all forums have people who jump right in uninformed and just simply do not read lol. drew has taken on a task that no one else wanted,couldnt do,or just didnt give a damn about trying to do. so of course people are rallying around his effort,nibbling at the bit for any news of positive progress. its impatiences if you take it that way. its excitement and geniune interest if you take it that way. its all in how you take it. no people shouldnt be coming to the thread demanding a time frame. hey,it may NEVER happen. deal with that. its possible,just as much as its possible that it will happen. if not more so. demanding soimething is one thing,just asking is another. and yeah people work,live lives and got a lot to do. so time is limited. i would about bet,for all of those asking. that when it does happen. you will know it. probably a seperate post made here at the forums for the recovery itself,stickied not called CLOCKWORK MOD. because its not clockwork mod. drew has his own custom recovery. youl know it. just relax,wait and see. its all you can do. :)


edit: here is an excellent way to find out any updates on open cannibal. if there is any progress,youll probably see it here : https://plus.google.com/107298829932387539116 this is drew's open cannibal project page. all sorts of updates for all sorts of devices involving his recovery. big guess because i dont know,but i imagine this is what may appear on the elite if its possible to add to our device. check for updates there. with the elite being so difficult to do anything with,it'll be big news if progress happens. ill bet it appears on plus. (sorry for spamming a link but there's no way it cant be relevant to topic)
 
Well it seems like trying more then just CWM or the one Drew is working on would be a good thing for someone to try. I also found that ZipSigner2 signs Update.zip's to work in the stock recovery. :]
 
im not sure if zipsigner would work for our phone. other phones might use it fine in stock recovery, but our phone has that weird checksum going on. not sure just a guess.
 
Oh I know. I'm just saying for if someone wants to attempt flashing something but don't have a computer and want to do so the easiest way. I can imagine it works fine but also sure it would be failed and boot looped as well. Just a thought on if someone wanted to try flashing something but don't have a computer.
