Location updates are still broken. Navigation is fixed. I'm a little busy but I'll look into the location updates late. I trust that cvcps will have a better solution for it though.

Its working on my phone. I went from .595 Zombiestomped, SBF'ed to Froyo, rerooted, used cvpcs' CM7 file. DL'ed the gps.shadow.so file, changed permissions, copied it, pasted it over the original gps file, rebooted, and all is working well. And I'm on the .12 baseband.

Are your weather widgets updating?

yeah, WeatherBug is working, and the weather on my notification bar works. Went into Navigation app, found me in a few seconds, typed in an address and it gave me the right route to follow. All seems to be fully functioning

Funny. GPS works for me but not internet geo location. It will give me navigation fine, bit won't update the weather when I'm indoors and can't use gps.

Steven, do you seriously use GPS indoors? How big IS your house?

I was on the phandroid app and wasn't able to be clearer. Simply put, google navigation works. Weather finding location does not.

It's because most weather apps use coarse (network) gps.

We have satellite and wifi (what google uses to aid locking) working. Network, Verizon towers) doesn't work. Most apps you use that aren't navigation apps will use coarse gps because it is basically free from battery use. Satellite GPS eats up battery.

I was noticing that, also, the maps location put me exactly where i was standing at work and tracked me as I walked around, but the weather app needed me to manually input my location.

a fix for this...at least for Beautiful Widgets...would probably be to "Force GPS for Geolocation" however be prepared for BW to use more battery under these circumstances...

Update:
Here's a flashable zip file for those who are as lazy as I am - CMod7 Gps Fix. Please mount system before installing.

Yep. You can change the frequency of weather updates to happen less, but you would probably also turn off check on wake.
