Root Cm7 1.1

Is tethering working for anyone running 1.7 with Imo's 3.5.12?

Worked on 1.6.1 for me.

Did a full wipe before install, and admittedly I didn't try to tether with the stock kernel, so I can't say what is to blame for sure.

*edit*

Got it working. Just needed to clear everything off the comp.

i tried flashing this over 1.6.1 and it got stuck at the HTC boot up screen :( is there any big reason to flash 1.7? i've heard that the biggest thing is that skype audio works now.

I had the same problem. Restored to 1.6 and then used ROM Manager to update the CWM to the latest version. You'll know it's updated when recovery text is blue instead of yellow. Was able to update to 1.7 with no problems after that...

EXCEPT...

The bluetooth is broken and no one can hear me when I make outgoing calls. Tried a full wipe and went through the setup - same result. There are many complaints on the rootzwiki forum about this. Wasted about an hour on all this. Restored 1.6 while waiting for a fix. :(

Hi,
Is the bluetooth related to the kernel or the rom?
Thanks,
Bryan

I was going to start a new thread, then decided against it. I'm posting it in here because it has the CM color scheme. I'm using it on ShifyAOSP and it is the nicest boot ani I have ever seen. I think most of them are cheesy and I've never found one I liked enough to see everytime I booted. Then I found this. There is a preview on his website you can watch before downloading. I have to say, though, that it looks even better on the TB's screen.

Check it out here. I flashed the portrait version Android. Custom Boot Animation. Like A Boss | rasdroid

edit: please don't try and flash this, folks  Please refer to post 435 below on how to install it

How do you flash this? I downloaded, renamed to bootanimation and tried to flash zip and it shows aborted. I am not sure what to do with this file. Thanks.

You can't flash it. You have to rename it to bootanimation.zip and move it with a file manager of your choice to system/media. I moved the stock ani to my SD card, then moved this one in. Reboot and enjoy it's awesomeness

Make sure you change the permissions as well.

Thanks for posting this I've been looking for a non-ghey boot animation. The twister one is pretty sweet too.

No problem. For what it's worth I didn't change the permissions and it's working fine for me

So from going to 1.6 to 1.7, anything special I need to do besides wipe cache/dalvik?

For that bootanimation: do you download both versions?

No just wipe both caches and battery stats if you want.

No, you just download which ever one you want on your phone.

sorry to be a noob but where in the astro file manager do I find the system/media? Do I extract to anything? Thanks in advance.

You can't use Astro. You need to use one that accesses your root files like Root Explorer or Total Commander

I can get to the root files in astro fine. It'll let me go to system/media. All you have to do is keep hitting up until you are out of mount/sdcard. But it won't let me move or paste it in. But I can get there fine.

just downloaded root explorer and tried to first remove the bootanimation from the system file and it says it is read only and cannot be moved. Figured I would rename it and then move new bootanimation file in but it tells me the same thing and cannot be moved. Sigh.

Muhahaha. Just renamed the original bootanimation and pasted the new one in. It worked except all I got was the word "android". But now I know how to do it. Thanks again to all. This has always been a great forum from the Eris to the Bolt.
