I am seriously tired of you and dofuss telling every joe to get timat...... man i wish my phone worked well with this kernel... I get straight poopy %$^% battery life with this kernel.. but you"all or swearing your life to this kernel.. must be awesome.............
 
SBC this set up pushes your battery to A true 100%.. have you ever noticed when yoiu un plug your phone 15 min latter you are @ 90 even 85 % on your battery

this is because as a safety measure the type of battery that you have has rumored to explode when pushed beyond its capacity .... so your kernel is set up to stop charging at a certain point.. now this thinking is old thinking.. ie I have had SBC kernel for quite awhile now and know many others that have it and have never hadd this problem... but @ your own risk awwwwwww
 
Guess i still did not answer your Question.... if a kernel you are looking at says SBC in the tittle then this means that it will push your phones battery to a true 100%. ( its been my experience that overnight chargers work the best with this setup .. I can charge my phone over night and not hit 80% till like 3 - 5 hr after unpluging depending on use
 
I guess yes .. Like I said its been romered... I have never Known of this happining... it took me a while to try SBC. I was affraid of this...but so many people are using it I had to give it a try....and have not looked back...
 
i want to underclock when my screen is off. is there a setting in cyanogen? i dont see one. can i use setcpu or will that cause conflict?
 
ok so smartass govenor kind of acts like its own setcpu. Smartass is meant to scale the CPU frequency based on several factors such as load, battery life, screen on/off state, etc. It should not be used with setcpu profiles.

you know i stayed away from sbc kernels since people were talking about exploding phones. but you know i just started trying them out and i have seen the best battery life so far out of the tiamat sbc kernel and i do not plan on switching. and i have yet to hear of anybody having their phone explode.

under and overclocking can be found in phone settings/cyanogen mod settings/performance/ and cpu settings. the lowest that you cand underclock is 245. i have yet to find a reason to use setcpu with cm7. the smartass govenor in combination with the tiamat kernel has given me the best battery life ever. you can use setcpu if you want to, but i really do not think that you need it.

yeah i wish that all kernels act the same on every phone. because if you can get the battery life that i'm getting with this kernel, you will giving it mad props as well.

Okay, Here is some props for my sbc savage zen kernel. almost 9 hours in and at 90%. getting sweet battery life out of this bad boy!

sooooooooo, If i set smart ass mode will it underclock when my screen is off? thats what i want. Also i fully charged and it droped 10% fast. do i need to reset battery stats for this?
 
I am not sure about smart ass mode. I keep my setcpu on either ondemand or performance, and underclock it at 128 when screen off.
For the 10% drop off, flashing an SBC kernel should fix that problem.

are you using setcpu? and using an SBC kernel?

Depending on the kernel the screen off while using smart ass is somewhere around 300.
 
ya im using tiamat sbc kernel. no set cpu. set to smart ass. and that 10% drop in like 20 mins or less. im charging again and installed battery monitor widget

If you use it a lot when you unplug it that 10 percent will still fly by. Give it a few after you pull it to let it adjust.
 
hey Brother. can you help me out with the tiamat kernel you recommended? im not notciing any battery gain . my batt life sucks. I have updates adjust and wifi off and no live wallpaper, the usual battery saving tips. I want to underclock when my screen is off but i read using setcpu to do so may intefere with either cm7 or tiamat. how do you have your rig setup for your batt gains?
