Root CM7 Nightlies

So have you all herd the roumers that cm is starting development on 2.4 & 3.0

Woo i cant wate it loiks promasing

well the honeycomb sdk was just released a day or two ago, but no word from google on when their "ice cream" will be available. Bets that CM can get honeycomb and gingerbread tied together before google anyone?

Running build #6 now. Only issue I've seen so far is that my haptic feedback is kind of sporadic.

yeah i was reading in XDA that the overclocking may be borked in build 6 so it you do reflash thy slightly underclocking it or keep your at 998 now see if that helps

It just makes me laugh when i hear "new" devices launching with 2.1 and 2.2.

I'm still running build 6, haven't experienced any random reboots yet, and I'm OC'd at 1036800.

I'm still on #6 also. OC'd to 1036 also. No reboots since going back to stock kernal. Only thing I have experienced is occasionally having to hit the power button several times to wake up the screen. No FC's or anything else.

Just went from 6 to 8. I think I'm in love. I was in love with 6 until I met up with 8.

Unless I overlooked a lot of stuff in 6, I would say 8 has a LOT more tweaks and settings than we've had in any of the nightlies. I can't remember them all, but now I find Status Bar Tweaks (including battery percentage, etc... located in Interface, CyanogenMod Settings), Automatic Message Splitting (at 160 characters) come to mind, but there are more. Like I said, maybe these were there before and I didn't see them, I don't know, but I know I LIKE 'EM! ;)

Speed is great, too! 1500+ in Quadrant.

These nightlies are SO much better than RC1!

thats why the night lys still continue after the rc is released

what are you guys' opinions on setcpu? I know in the settings of CM you can overclock, is setcpu worth buying or are the settings in the rom good enough? Also what is the max speed you can overclock the incredible to safely?

i use set CPU as a matter of convenience lol less steps to get to my settings and there is no real difference in them at all the roms settings are exactly the same... there really is no safe max unless its the default at 998 anything above that you cant really break anything thing you just run the risk of having random reboots at times because the processor thinks something wrong and restarts to protect its self

sounds good, havent gone too crazy with it yet, set it to 1036 in CM for fun. and from dj's short review of build 8 i couldnt help but flash it, restoring apps as i type.

I keep mine at max with the smartass gov and it workes great... Maybe 1 reboot a day... but to get smartass you have to flash a differnt kernel :)

I am on build 5 and running invisblek #28. I love the battery life with this kernel. I always flash #28. WHat are you running blkbelt?

And you will not be disappointed, my friend. :D

If it's any help... I always keep governor set to Performance, and both the Max and Min are set to 1113 with it checked to set at boot... 100% of the time. Stock kernel.

No random reboots, no boot loops.

Disclaimer: Every Dinc is different, and what works well with mine might not with your's and vice-versa. When I ran CM 6.1, I also had it set to boot up that way, but eventually ran into a very nasty boot loop - so it CAN happen, but I've not had that occur with Gingerbread, and CM7 is the only Gingerbread ROM I've run, or probably every will run, on my Dinc.

how is your battery life compared to froyo?

How are people using Quadrant? It doesn't seem to be working right for me. I get scores like 1050 when I know that it's faster now than when I was on froyo. Weird.
