Root CM7 Nightlies

Thanks for the review, I think I will skip 35. AFA gmail not syncing in 33, I'm running it now and am not having that problem. I did have to go into accounts/sync and when I clicked on google I noticed everything was checked except email. Once I checked that I have had no problems since

Found the smae thing with 33. Updated to 35 today. Not having any issues. So far so good!

I've been using #35 just fine. I'm scoring 1400+ in quadrant and haven't been having any FC's or anything.

G-mail is working fine too.

I don't understand why I had problems with it. I did a complete wipe when I flashed 33. I flashed 35 on top of it and had issues. Go figure.

Thats strange because that is the exact same thing that I did. I have an AMOLED phone, but I was under the impression that the screen was the only thing that changed between the two models - I don't understand what change that could have made that would affect gmail syncing. Nor do I have the screen wake issue.

I dunno.

Well, #36 should drop anytime now. I think I'll do a complete backup and then flash that on top of 30 (running that now) since that one ran as near perfect as I've had in a while. I don't have time to do a complete wipe and restore tonight.

Edit: Ahhh, 36 dropped as I typed the words above. I'm off now backing up! Geez, I'm addicted to this whole process. When they give us RC1 I'll have withdrawal from all this flashing!

you and every other cm7 user out there bro i am and aint looking forward to it lol

With the .37 included in #36, should it have Smartass scaling? I flashed #36 today and there is no smartass scaling. In about phone it says I have the .37 kernel. So am I doing something wrong or am I just dumb?

Tried flashing that kernel. Would not boot past the splash screen.
Same here. Slayher has the latest, which I think he tweeted would be his last update to it since it's working so well, in the nightly now. I'm done with kernels for now.

Try flashing it again. I had the same problem after I updated to #33. I flashed the kernel and then it got completely stuck on HTC white screen. Pulled battery, rebooted, and it did it again.

I booted into recovery (after another battery pull) and simply reflashed the kernel. Been running great ever since.

facebook, twitter and a few others...gmail included force close. i have done a full wipe and can't seem to figure out how to prevent some apps from force closing. even titanium fc's

this has been an issue since #33...prior to that build, i never had issues

what in the world did you all do wrong i am on that kernel and there is nothing wrong but i flashed it right after i flashed the new build so the hardware and the OS starts working together at the same time i wonder if that had anything to do with it ???

did you guys download the metafile or the mirror ???
i have read on the thread that there maybe problems with the mirror so try the metafile if you wanna flash

Installed 36 (no time to do 37 before I leave for Costa Rica for a week). Wiped data, cache and dalvik cache 4 times each.

36 running PERFECTLY once it got settled in... except that LauncherPro FCs right after boot-up, but after that no problems until next reboot. Don't know what the deal is with the FCs. Not a big deal I suppose... more like a small hiccup.

LauncherPro runs smooth as butter though, even with 7 homescreens full of widgets, and with zero lag or redraws.

Quadrant scores are high 1400s and some 1500+, which I like.:)

I'll have limited access to wifi, so I'll check in here every now and then while in Costa Rica to see if RC1 drops while I'm gone.

man i am using adw and i have no problom using that and no force closses but everyones phone is diffrent i guesss

I've been avoiding posting this and was hoping to come up with the answers by researching myself but it looks like that time has come.

Since last week I've been trying to flash #30 and keep running into issues. I wipe the cache and the dalvik cache before flashing. I have also done md5 sums and they all jive with the reported sums where I downloaded them. The flashing process seems to go fine and the reboot goes as expected. It's once the phone is booted up the problems begin. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on this point but I thought that your apps needed to be restored after flashing a rom but yet when I go into the app drawer there they all are without having to do a thing. Another bigger issue is that I have no notification bar visible at all. There is a widget on the home screen that has the problem loading widget message displayed in it so I'm not even sure what widget it is. And last but not least I can't download any apps from the market, it just sits there at the preparing to download step.

I've tried the same procedure of wipe, wipe dalvik and flash a few times now and still get the same results. Any help would of course be greatly appreciated.

Forgot to mention that I did flash the radio and have the correct hboot as specified on the xda thread.

There's your first problem. If you don't wipe data, then all of your data (apps, settings) will still be there. All you cleared was cache and dalvik.

Another bigger issue is that I have no notification bar visible at all.

You probably have the "hide notification bar" option checked in ADW or Launcher Pro, whichever you are using. Since you didn't do a full wipe, your settings were retained.

With the issues you are having, it's time to do a full clear and then flash the ROM. So, launch your recovery and;

-wipe data (factory reset)
-wipe cache
-(advanced) wipe dalvik
-flash ROM
-flash GAPPS
-reboot

Make sure you backup anything that you need, because this will give you a truly clean slate.

I had the feeling it might be something that was obvious to someone else. Ugh. I've been involved in IT and programming for the last 11 years and this stuff still throws me for a loop at times. Thanks and I'll let you know how it goes as soon as I get a chance to try it.

yeah like it was said it sounds like its an options or setting that somehow got checked unintentional a true wipe and a good look at the settings should fix all your probloms

ADW does not run smooth at all for me once I ads any widgets. Too stuttery and sluggish. Also, the LauncherPro Plus widgets are way better than the regular ones.

Im having major trouble getting back to this rom.

I bought my incredible off someone, and it came with CM7 Nightly installed...

Then i tried going back to stock, and I did.,... but now I cant get back to CM7 Nightly....

I tossed the rom on the SD card, named it update.zip, and installed it via Clockwork....

The CM7 boot screen shows up.. the blue circle, but it never boots into the os...

I have the latest Hboot .92

What gives?

i found your problem bro... don't rename it the file at all when you download the rom put it on the root of the sd card meaning not in any files then use the track ball to highlight install zip form sd card then CHOOSE zip from sd card scroll down and click on it and it will do the rest by its self my man
