With any luck I'll have an Inc sometime this week :p we'll see how things go...

I've also decided that this next update will be the last one posted on xda. After that they will only be posted here on af. Thank you all for your support and encouragement. :)

Great news. I hope things are better doing it that way. We certainly appreciate all that you have contributed here.

CS - I am not sure what you're referring to as far as the BS you are receiving, but I did want you to know how much I personnally appreciate your hardwork, dedication, and willingness to put up with my questions.

I know this has been a difficult year for you. Focus on your needs. You know there's always a fan club waiting right here for you.

Take care & God Bless

Looking forward to it.

Will it include a fix for the horizontal gallery bug?

Preliminary info, Eris, 2.3.4, CM7v7

Yesterday afternoon, my phone went to acting stupid, and i'm beginning to suspect it's no longer acting.

My status bar at the top went away, so I rebooted the phone after a few minutes. Now it doesn't seem to see my SD card at all, and doesn't give the option to mount thru USB. I booted to recovery and tried to mount that way, and the computer said it needed to be formatted first >.<
Is it dead, and if so, why. I only have a 4gb available as a backup, which will probably do but still.

Any suggestions? I hate to loose the pictures and what other little is there that hasn't been backed up, but i'll bite it if i have to.

Have you tried to take it out of the phone and mount it directly to your pc. Then try to backup everything to the pc.

Also, try pulling it out of your phone and re-seating it.

Tried both, no joy. the 4gb works in the phone, the 8 does nothing in the computer. i'll live with the loss, going to try to mount thru the recovery and format.

<Edit>
Just tried, the format dialogue lists the available size as 30.6mb :(
So i guess it's time for a new microSD. I'll use the 4 till then. dangit.

Updates are posted. I'm still trying to figure out the what's going on with the gallery but if you open gallery in landscape mode it will display fine in that mode it just gets blurry when you switch while it's open. I'll find the culprit soon I hope :o

By the way, what's the advantage of going with the Stripped version over the full version?

What are the currently-recommended performance settings?

The only real difference between the 2 is that the stripped version has a few of the systeem apps such as DSPManager, File Manager, Live Wallpapers and a good amount of the ringtones removed. It started out as a 10 MB difference in the size of the zip but now it's only about a 2-3 MB difference lol.

I've been running it at the stock CPU speeds and not changing anything else in the performance setup and it's been running great for me with a very nice difference on battery drain. I also don't really listen to music or play games or anything on it either so if you do either of those you might need to make some changes... I can't say for sure though ;)

What are the pros and cons?

One less flash if they are in the ROM but I was under the impression that with the CM Roms and AOSP Roms that they we supposed to be seperate due to copyright reasons from Google. Maybe that has since changed though I'm not sure.. I'll look into that ;)

That was my understanding as well. It would be nice to have them combined, for the sake of convenience. Maybe they have changed their policy on it. I hope so!

i knew this is why cm roms have them seperately, but i wonder why, then, all the sense roms are able to have them baked in?

downloading stripped v9

A few years ago Cyanogen was sent a cease and desist letter directly by Google, which prevented them from directly incorporating any closed-source Google apps into their ROMs. After a few days Google allowed Cyanogen to include a separate flash for the proprietary Google apps and drivers, so long as they were not incorporated directly into the ROM distribution. I suppose that Google could go after any other developer who includes the apps and drivers without permission, but it's not likely they would go after a dev who is making ROMs for the Eris. So far, they haven't. ;)

I see that Workshed has them in GSB, so...

I see he has done that as well.. If he does in his next update maybe I will as well  I'm just trying to make sure I follow the rules is all ;) lol

Just wanted to say thank you to those that have donated... It's very much appreciated and I thank you for your generosity. Please don't feel it's expected though because it's not :)
