By the way, are you comfortable with the newer version of gapps from the GSB site, or would a guy be wiser to stick with the official release for now?
 
crap! ima have to wait a couple days to flash it,i want to give some time to tazz's 2.3 sense port. need me to download and upload to drop box for BC? ;)

So far in my use of them the last couple of updates I've found no issues with them myself. :)

How's that rom running? It sounds pretty sweet to me and I see he's got wifi working now :) ... No need to worry about dropbox, It's already there as well as......

Condemned CM7 V8 - Stripped 2 Hell :) Finally got it uploaded.. takes forever to upload in this place :mad:... and they changed the password on the wireless sometime since last night too :mad::mad:... Who the hell uses a 1 word 6 letter password anyway? :eek: At least the bumped it up to 10 letters this time...... :rolleyes:

overall im pretty impressed with it. i never thot the eris would run a 2.3 rom with a more complex sense 2.1. its got some lag and lil quirks but is pretty smooth and functional especially for only the 3rd version. especially since we never even got a fully functional froyo sense rom :eek:

if he can get it smoothed out some and polished up a lil,it will defaintely be a sweet rom for the sense folks.

i like sense in small doses ;) but overall the only thing i really love about this version is the 3.0 lockscreen,lol.i like the ring and how you can drag the the shortcuts into it. neato.

all that said,im lookin fwd to tryin v8 in a couple days :cool:
 
I've been having some bad LP black screen issues since LP updated. When I flash v8 I'll probably do a clean install and then install LP fresh instead of updating it. Hope everything is going well.
 
Rebooting now after flashing Version 8. Did a clean install since I'm coming from GSB. I'll be really excited if the fix for Exchange e-mail works. Of course, I'm leaving in a few hours for a business trip and will be in Canada, so I'll have to turn off data to avoid expensive roaming charges.

I'm flashing it right now, too, though with just a Dalvik wipe. Excited because my sister's iPhone sent me an MMS this morning that I could not download. I hope this fixes that issue.

I was having issues with LP after flashing V8. I ended up uninstalling/reinstalling LP and now it's working fine.
 
The iPhone MMS issue seems to be resolved and the email exchange seems to be working now!

Is it ok to use LP with this ROM? I left it running ADW because I didn't like the idea of putting a launcher on top of a launcher. Much more used to LP though.

That was my feeling as well. I've both flashed LP from recovery, and downloaded it from the market with no adverse performance issues.
 
I use LP+ and it works just fine. That said, there is this great script that fixes that occasional LP shutdown without having to use settings->cyanogenmod settings->performance->lock home in memory.

So, it's from this thread: xda-developers - View Single Post - [Script] V6 SuperCharger !! HTK & BulletProof Launchers! FIX MEMORY FOR ALL ANDROIDS! (zeppelinrox's Supercharger scripts). Anyway, you download the attached script (don't get anxious over the length of that post - it's a lot simpler than it looks). I also loaded Script Manager, though I think GScript would work fine as well. I ran the script (make sure that run as root is checked) and chose option 12 for bulletproof launcher. Rebooted and it's been just fine. I'm sure it works great for any launcher, including ADW, ADW EX, etc.
 
Sorry guys.. I hate falling behind like this after posting an update. Today has been really rough here for me and tomorrow will probably be about the same but they said after I get through tomorrow It should be all uphill and then I can start getting myself back together. Let's hope so anyway. I'm gonna try to get to all the questions.. hope I don't miss any... if I do I apologize....

Yes.. receiving mms from AT&T has been confirmed fixed by numerous people.

If you're getting lag in LP... did you move it to system/app? I ask because I saw someone say that uninstalling and reinstalling it fixed it for them.. If it's in system app try this and let me know if it helps... With root explorer navigate to the data folder and move local.prop to the system folder. That is the file that was added for the lag in LP so I'm wondering if it only helps if the launcher is in data/app but if you move the apk then the prop file needs to be moved to /system If anyone tries this let me know and I'll put the file in both places for the next update.

Can you use LauncherPro? Yes.. you can pretty much use any launcher you want except Sense of course. I personally like ADW EX. LauncherPro Plus has some nice features as well and I find myself switching back and forth depending on my mood but ADW EX has become my personal favorite.

Is anyone else having GPS issues? I haven't had a chance to really mess with that here but I'm going to try and get outside with my phone tomorrow and see if I can't take a walk around with it. I should be able to do that. But that's also hoping that tomorrow isn't worse than today.

Again.. sorry if I missed anything. I'll try and pop in again tomorrow and see how things are here. I'll also let you know how my GPS test goes if I can accomplish it.

I had it installed in system/app before there was the update and the fix you did for the lag was gone, so I don't think it's that. I think it's just because the update installed to data/app and I moved it, and installed it in system app over the old version. I didn't have another launcher and didn't want to accidentally close root explorer and not be able to access anything. I'm going to flash v8 now, so we'll see if everything is fixed after that.

Hang in there and take good care of yourself.

Edit: All is well after the fresh install. Must have been something messed up with installing the update.
 
Neither of my eris's are active now but when one was, I never used gps on it anyway. I have gps in each of my vehicles so I never had a need to use my phone as one. Hey CS take care man. Sent ya a couple pics of the beach. That shpuld cheer ya up a bit.:D
 
Just to update you... I took my phone out today for a walk and ran my GPS.. I'm getting the lost connection on mine here too. I didn't try GPS status yet but I'm going to try a few different things to see if I can figure it out.. Hope to have something to fix it soon. Sorry for any inconveniences.
 
ive been sick the last couple days so ive not messed with my eris :( hope you are doing well :) so am i understanding correctly that v8 has become the stipped version that bc and i tested?
