Coolest Feature,Tip,Trick or App you have found For the Note 2

I use swiFTP, it kicks but. You can download the free APK file here: swiftp - FTP server for Android - Google Project Hosting

And there is a link to the how to video here: http://androidforums.com/samsung-ga...-note-ii-mass-storage-device.html#post5245863

I really support Mike's videos, but Solid Explorer is much more basic to use. No need to download anything except for the app.

From there, you can use the regular Windows File Explorer on the PC. No need to download all the additional apps for wireless transferring.

Just tired and this is cool, it is basically the same thing but without needing the FTP client Filezilla and other stuff on the PC

Yup. I can't take credit (and feel really bad because I can't remember who originally posted it), but I was mentioning in another thread how the only things that prevents me from using this as my primary file explorer (vs. using Astro) is 1) Ability to back up apps and access/copy hidden files (which you can do in astro, without rooting).

Nontheless, it's still in Beta, so if the Developer continues to work on it, I'd imagine it'd gain a lot of following. It's the first app I've ever seen that had a solid 5 stars (with multiple thousands of downloads).

Not sure if anyone post this yet, but the screen shot swype is kinda hard for me for some reason, so I was playing around and I pressed the home and power button and held and it took a screen shot.

First make sure you have this enabled in motions. Then practice moving from edge to edge with your hand positioned like you're about to do a karate chop.

I use an alternative method - Dropbox. There is an option that allows you to automatically upload photos and videos whenever you phone and the laptop are on the same network. Of course, for a video it will take longer than direct USB connection.
Also, you can try Airdroid, the best replacement for Kies (which never works).

I use Airdroid like crazy but I'll never do the auto syncing of photos. Not everything belongs in the cloud.

I thought we were supposed to be able to put our thumbs on the screen and rotate to launch the camera app. I'm not seeing this option anywhere.

Settings, lock screen, lock screen options then scroll down to camera quick access ;) hope this helps.

Yup. I always disable auto sync'ing for any photos or videos I have on the phone. I'd much rather just make it a habit of going into solid explorer and transferring wirelessly at the end of the day, than have those auto sync. But maybe that's the control freak/ocd organizer in me.

Did you know once you sync to the cloud you cant delete those photos from the phone. It'll place a thumbnail on said pic in your photo gallery showing you were they're cloud stored- eg.... Picasa

Someone else mentioned the fact he couldn't remove some photos for this very reason. Since I don't use cloud storage for photos I didn't think much about it until I realized photos I recently shared on G+ cannot be deleted from my gallery.

Try going into your settings -> accounts -> your gmail account and unchecking "picasa web albums".

They may still be cached and show but more shouldn't sync, and they may go away completely after a reboot.

I went into picasa on my comp and just deleted then went into accounts on the phone and resync'd.. (resyned? resank? resunk?) to get them to leave my gallery. Then unchecked sync and called it a day.

Phases I've never had any of this enabled. Even now it's still not enabled (just checked again). The only thing I ever sync with Google is contacts and email which is why I was shocked this even happened.

I don't even use Picasa on the computer.

If you are talking about the Instant Upload album or whatever it was called, here is how you get rid of it.

First make sure in your gmail account, you unchecked the Instant Upload box.. you have to scroll down. Now go to Application Manager and select the ALL tab, Go to Gallery and clear the data. Now when you get back to Gallery, the Instant Upload album will be gone! Be aware that if you are sync to Facebook photos, it will re-sync with Facebook. And also somehow clearing the Gallery data also clear the lock screen wallpaper. I had to set it again.

This is how I did it the first time I forgot to unclick sync for pics.

I'm a mobile notary. I travel to people's homes to notarize loan documents. My clients call, email and text me to give me work. If I miss the call, text or email, or don't respond quick enough, I lose the job. Needless to say, I need to know who is calling, texting, or emailing me and what they want. Since I spend a lot of time driving, I need all this info to be spoken to me so I can pull over and respond to SMS or emails if need be.

One of my favorite features is having the nice Samsung lady read my text messages to me as well as announce my callers. I also have my email read to me by the same lady. I just enabled my emails to be forwarded to my messaging 999-999-9999@vtext.com and leave a copy of the server. So when I get an email, it is read to me. I haven't figured out how to get her to respond to email yet but I'm working on it. :)

In the past I have had to use 3rd party apps to accomplish what the N2 can do natively.

Nice! How do you enable emails being read to you? And I'm assuming that this is just through Driving mode, right?

Thanks in advance.

Enable it in Driving Mode and then then in S Voice enable "Show body of message when new message arrives while in driving mode". Otherwise you just get the name of sender read to you.

The emails are not being read via the email app. They are read from the messaging app which I have my email forwarded to.

Oh, your emails are getting forwarded to text messaging...that's why. Thanks for clarifying.
