Root couple small issues..

first off thanks to all the contributors on this site.. i've done some things w/ my phone, w/ your help of course, that i never thought i'd be able to do..

ok.. there are a couple somewhat minor bugs that i'm not able to figure out yet.. and i try before making a thread..

first off.. i hijacked someone's thread and posted this earlier.. i'm currently running the stock HTC Sense (rooted of course) w/ netarchy-toastmod-4.3.1-cfs-nohavs-nosbc.. i have ADWLauncher EX all set up and like it alot.. however, i'm getting force closes, the app drawer doesn't always load up on the first couple tries and it seems to run a little choppy compared to the stock kernel, which ADWLauncher EX worked flawlessly w/.. i really like the over/under clocking abilities of the netarchy kernel though.. if it matters, my SetCPU is running Max: 1075200, Min 12800.. ondemand and my only profile is screen off.. this happens w/ every netarchy kernel i've tried.. havs, no havs, some havs, 4.3.1, 4.3.2, 4.3..

secondly, i tried a couple Cyanogen roms, and liked them alot.. but had to bail on everyday use because of a couple issues.. I've flashed CM6 and CM7 and could not send a text over 160 characters (2 page) with either.. this again is w/ different kernels on both.. also, when i'd end a phone call, my phone would just go dark for a few minutes.. w/ no buttons able to do anything.. then the screen would just come back.. annoying.. CM7 would not allow any voice texting, or anything w/ voice for that matter.. wiimote and full hdmi out is a real nice combo though.. maybe these issues w/ the Cyanogen roms are known, but i haven't read that anywhere..

sorry this is long and thanks to anyone sharing the knowledge..

Boot to recovery
Wipe Dalvik cache and cache
Reboot

Increase your min on setcpu and decreasevyour Max just a hair. Not many phones can handle anything over 1052 or under 248.

As for cm7 it was too buggy for my tastes. Check out some of the newer sense roms or kings gb r2

None of the AOSP roms that I am aware of split the text over 160 characters with the message app that is included in the rom. I downloaded Handcent and use that. It gives you the option in settings to split the text over 160 characters. There is also a thread on XDA about a way to do it in CM I think but I haven't read it as yet.

tried it even though i've done it w/ each new kernel.. along w/ adjusting the SetCPU a little bit as mentioned below.. no dice.. ADW still running rough.. went back to the stock kernel and it's much better again..

good info, thanks..

Have you tried a netarchy-toastmod kernel without HAVS? Some EVOs can't handle HAVS and can cause a lot of force closes.
