Help Cracked screen :(

So, I was looking for just the glass part but looks like they only sell the part as a whole unit. The digitizer is fine and so is the lcd cause the phone still works fine and other than the top layer being cracked and the lcd isn't bleeding etc;). Only the glass broke and when I say broke its shattered/spider-ed pretty bad. So, I have a question....Does anyone know for sure that insurance will not cover this? and if it does not cover it Maybe someone has a bricked esteem they want to sell me cheaper than this. I am kinda worried about that screen cause it says metro in the picture but its supposed to say lg and when you scroll down it says revolution wtf? and I was reading they are not the same exact part. Thanks in advance. :o

Insurance covers everything even if you lose it, drop it in water, etc.

The screens are the same size so I think either will work. You should make sure and talk to your local repair shop and ask them before you make the purchase.
 
There's a company that sells a lot of cellphone parts. If you Google what you need it's usually one of the top sites.

Or get one off Ebay. They hoard that shit out of China like no other. Usually runs no more than 30 bucks out so.

You could always see if you can find a bad esn one/ parts only esteem and replace the screen. Otherwise the phone works right:confused:

Yeah the phone works just fine.:o Good thing I had a screen protector on it or I couldn't use it at all cause it would slice my finger lol.:p I am in between cases and this happened:( Waiting for my new one to come in the mail it should be here any day. I think if I had a case on the phone this wouldn't of happened.:(

Damn dude that sucks. I have about 6 or 7 cases, If I would have known hell I would have sent you one. I gave out 4 screen protectors a month or so ago so I don't mind handing out stuff when I got it. Damn dude that sucks. Let me see if I can find anything for you.

OEM LG Revolution 4G VS910 Touch Screen Digitizer Glass Lens Replacement Parts | eBay

For the revolution so I dont see why It wouldnt work. Plus it's HELLA cheaper.

Replacement isn't that hard either. You can get a torx set at home depot or lowes for under 10 bucks. That's all you will need, and some patience. :D

Not hard at all, I used to replace Ascend one's all the time.


After looking, the revolution is the same as the Esteem so there you go. ;)

I read in another thread that the rev and esteem have different screens so one replacement will not work on another, the rev is 24 bit while esteem is 16 or something like that, lemme try and find it :p
 
Yeah I am still looking into the different types and if they will work or not cause 58 buck isn't that much vs the 99 bucks the other seller wants. I think I am going to go to metro and see if they can help and if they can't I will contact LG and see what they charge and post all the info back here once I find out everything I need to know. Thanks for all the support and suggestions they have helped me with my decisions and put things into better prospective.;)

Screen and digitizer is 2 different things :D

The LCD is different. But we don't need an LCD for this guy, we need a digitizer from which is the same. ;)
 
A revolution LCD, if it has the same connections *should* work. If you are going to replace the digitizer might as well see if you can upgrade the LCD while you have it apart.

Also you can buy a whole kit of the tools you need for 5 or 6 bucks

Oh I see now, but I guess it does make a difference because don't they come combined together?

Hope you can resolve this whether it be through insurance or just creating a frankesteem.
Also, hope your leg is okay, sucks that you can't get stitches :/

Yeah they are separate pieces.

But what your saying about the LCD might be true. Ive heard something about that but I dont know. Fitment will be the same i know.
 
The Digitizer the exact same part!!!! The LCD may be diff but will work, tho you're not needing that ;). And the digitizer really isnt all that hard to change out. ;)

LOL. That's what i was thinking. I've torn my Ascend apart so many times I could do that shit blind folded. Nothing but screws and being very very careful with the circuit strips.

Have a link to that digitizer? And what does it say on the screen? LG ,Verizon ,or MetroPCS? Is it a OEM part for the esteem or revolution? 34 is cheap. Lowest I have found is 56.
