Accessories Custom Made Incredible Dock

Thanks for the compliments, they are much appreciated.

Ok here is a slight update. Several folks have been concerned about a back rest. And I know it is damn neared impossible to make a product to satisfy everyone, I am gonna give it a heck of a shot.

Sooooo, I am going to include a back rest. This is basically how it is going to work, and I think it will work well. So what you will do is insert your phone, attach the USB cable and snug up the set screws. Then put a slight bend in the wire backrest until it is snug against the back of your phone. This way it should work with a naked phone or any case you can throw at it. With all these updates price is going to have to change a bit. I am going to set a $35.00 tag on it, which I think is more than reasonable with all the customization you can obtain.

What do ya think?

John

That back support should work great for those worried about proper support. Just imagine being able to put a slit piece of rubber hose on it to make a custom fit support. If the support is removeable then a complete piece of rubber hose could be slid on before mounting. Great job.

I read through all the posts so far and don't think I saw this asked, so.....

Have you given any thought to making a stand to hold the phone vertical? This horizontal one you've designed looks flat out awesome, but at work I'd like my phone to sit vertical on my desk.

Thanks, and keep up the great work!

I thought about asking for one as a one on one. The Motorola Q is an excellent idea platform for the design. It had the charge cord in the same exact place. You slid the phone in from the right to left. It worked great for a car dock as well. See below.

This may be an ignorant question, but what is the difference between the "finish" of the first picture in the thread compared to the picture above? Will the finished product have the first picture's finish?

Will the finished product have the first picture's finish? Also, will the backrest be removable so a rubber hose can be added? I can always permanently secure it after the hose is installed.

See my post above, I already asked for you.

Yes, something like that. n2airz could put in his own little bit o' creativity and make it very cool. I think I could get my wife to give me $30 for something like that. ;)

I'll buy your original one, logo and all. I don't need a back rest or a swivel. PM me the price and I'll pay pal you.

Not really just yet. You have to remember that I designed the first one in a couple of hours only a week ago, and it wasn't intended to be mass produced lol. So if I do decide to start cranking these out which is highly likely with the response I have received. Yes...I will designs some sort of vertical cradle.

You are seeing a difference in finish, because in my first post the pictures are of an actual cradle.

In the picture above it is a 3d model from my CAD program. I didn't take the time to render it out with the correct finish. The final piece will look exactly like that except have a brushed aluminum look.

Any final decision on whether we can get it Black anodized? That would look awesome with the color of the Incredible and sick with the Pre-release Red battery cover I just ordered.

Rock on! At that price you definitely have a customer.

When and where do I order?

Patience brotha patience ;-). I don't even have any of my materials in yet. I will probably just use my paypal account until my brother gets the website up and running. ;-).

I should have around 20 to 30 done by ~Monday.

I don't even know of an anodizer within 125 miles of where I am currently located. But, I will look into it ;-). I may end up setting up my own anodizing station, its pretty simple process and I have thought about doing it in the past. Now may be the time to set it up. I really like to do as much in house as I can.

And yes that would look sick.

I hope that wouldn't be an additional request? I thought you mentioned in one of the first posts that Anodizing would be easier than powder coating so I took it that you might already have the equipment or a local vendor. I know your inundated with requests and suggestions but whatever you decide will look awesome either way.

Thanks for even thinking about taking something like this on. You know how us Incrediblites love our phone.
