Root Cyanogen Mod 6 (Froyo) Released!!

Too bad about the camera. the 8 mega pixel camera is what attracted me to this phone in the first place.

man...I'm so impatient. Kind wish I had a motodroid instead just so I can have a decent froyo.

kudos to the devs, alot of work being put into making a bunch of impatient people happy =] looking forward to the fully functional froyo ROM!
 
After i found i had to install the newest gapps .zip to avoid the reboot loop, i've been using CM6 nightly build 4. I've had zero problems with freezing or glitching, and the only gripe i have is not being able to use the multi-touch droid x keyboard.

I don't know why development has stopped, because it seems like it [was] coming along just fine.
 
I think focus shifted toward the new clockwork mod. I'm guessing and hoping that some new updates are in the near future.
 
I love this ROM, I really do.

I had started using it last weekend, switched back to stock because of the bluetooth and gps, switched back tonight when I saw the build with those working, and then got highly upset when I was playing mini-golf and tried to take a picture of my little brother...

Yeah I had the same thing happen when I went to bust out the barcode scanner. Whoops!

We just need to be patient, though. We'll get everything soon enough.
 
Soon as that camera comes into play I'm switching over. I mean just killing the HTC junk more than doubled my battery life (went from 5 hours average use to 13 hours with two hours of playing Armored Strike Online in there) and I'm just using YASR 1.1

Tried SkyRaider, just didn't quite do it for me yet so I'll wait for a stable CM6 with the bells and whistles.
 
Actually it's very good. Extremely fast and customizable.

Did you wipe data/cache first and install a hydra kernel to go with it? It runs flawlessly on my phone (minus the couple known bugs). If you did do both of those things, try using a different kernel next time.
 
I just flashed to CM6, now I dont have a marketplace to restore titanium. I can't add an account in gmail either. Any ideas?
 
this is the best rom i've tried so far, one problem, i didnt back up my contacts and cm6 does not seem to have backup assistant. Is there anyway to flash backup assistant so i can get my conacts back? i did install the google apps zip and titanium backed up all my apps; backup assistant was on the titanium list however did not install. help?
 
A new nightly was just released (7/19/2010) and can be seen in ROM Manager nightlies. Do not load it however as it is broken and hangs in the HTC splash screen. I found this to be the case and it has been verified by several other users as well. The good news:

Reportedly, GPS, Bluetooth and PERHAPS the camera (unverified as of this post) has been fixed in this new version. Koush is aware of the loading issue and is looking into it per a twitter update.

sweet. Do you know if there are plans for a ROM that will work with the OTA update?

I'm sure when the official ota comes out it'll be dissected and made to work with our rooted incs. All we have to do is kick back and be patient. Same with the clockwork mod some were scrambling to update. The new version was available with a single click in ROM Manager a few days later. :)
 
Guys. Lay off the new nightly. It's confirmed by Koush to be broken.

Now here's the good news. Koush is CURRENTLY working on getting the camera fixed. Everything else is already fixed, but he won't be releasing the official until the camera works, which SHOULD be within the next day or two if we all cross our fingers and pray to raptor jesus.
 
Now this may have been stated before and I overlooked it, but is there anyway to get backup assistant to work with CM6? I dont have all my contacts backed up to Google soo.....

No. Backup Assistant is not on this ROM and you can not download it. I can only find the BA for the ally. Your Contacts should be with gmail.
