Root Cyanogen Mod 6 (Froyo) Released!!

I think I would like stripped down and simple, but I type names with they numbers to find a contact quickly all the time.... hmm

I actually hadn't noticed that and forgot the stock dialer doesn't have the feature which is an awesome feature. I put Dialer One on CM6 and it along with the IMO nicer Android call screen are the win .
There really doesn't seem to be a good Vanilla ROM based off the latest leak yet so I'm going to stick by CM6 for at least the day see if I can't work out the battery drain issue. The ROM is just too awesome

Ok so I've been noticing that my phone seems to have issues with holding a 3g signal seems like my phone is always showing 1x never use to be the case, hasn't been with just CM6 I've noticed it in all ROMS over the last week or so. I just tried to reprogram it via *228 but for whatever reason the phone goes into a programing/activation screen with no way to pull up a dialer to hit 1 or 2 , tried to just launch DialerOne while on the call but when I hit 1 and 2 in Dialer One it didn't do anything.

Any ideas?

Jim,

Good catch. I've noticed that occasionally (the 3G thing) running FrankenROM B6.

I forgot that the part of Sense dialer that I HATE is having a call on hold, trying to end the current call without ending both calls. You can't switch back to the call on hold and have the first call "drop off."

So stupid.

I got tired of having to search for links and frustrated that they were not in the OP of threads so here you go:

Download: http://koush.tandtgaming.com/htc/inc/update-cm-6.0.1-Inc-signed.zip

mirror#1: http://android.local.host.name/incredible/cm/stable/update-cm-6.0.1-Inc-signed.zip

Wiki (google apps): http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Latest_Version#Google_Apps_for_CyanogenMod_6

I see this got merged. Hey mod, could you give me a reason why these threads couldn't be more organized like the Droid ROMS subforum? I'm not knocking, just a suggestion.

My battery is also getting hit pretty hard. 67% battery left
1h 43m unplugged (not bumped), 66% used by Screen with ~10m on. The rest of services were under 5% used.

That's crazy.

I don't have any battery issues so far with 6.0.1 (stable) CM6. The only issue I have is the internal memory not reading. Maybe it's because I'm not a power user?

I have been running it for about 24 hours, installed using rom manager free. So far, no issues, no reboots, no force closes.

I have used GPS few times, took some pictures, made calls, sent texts... really it is very stable.

Battery life is good too so far.

Only thing it seems to be missing is TV out. Unless it is hidden in there somewhere and I didn't see it.

-edit- oh, and FM radio too seems to be absent.

I just installed CM6 6.0.0 last night and so far I like it, but I hate the keyboard its the same as Droid, and the keys are so thin. some keys dont work unless I press hard or will select the wrong one instead of the right one. Pretty very annoying. Other thing is that GPS does not work. using camcorder freezes the phone and forces reboot.

I just came from Skyraider 2.5.2 which was laggy, gps not working, camcorder freezes and forces reboot. lags so bad when Im doing something and a new text comes in and wow so long for something to happen!

Is that because I have not done the radio update?

Camera, camcorder and gps problems are because of your radio..

ok back to stock rooted rom taht i just restored, going to do the s off and then do radio update then try again.

One question, is there a way i can use the stock keyboard because the CM6 keyboard is the same as droid and so thin and so hard to type on? I really like the stock keyboard and the auto correction rather than the one supplied with CM6.

I know what you mean. Luckily there's this:

[MOD] HTC_IME (8th June) v27: Small fix - xda-developers

Once you get back up and running with the new radio and CM6, load the Hi-Res version for 2.2 about 1/3 of the way down the first post. Under that are the install instructs. Note that you need to extract and install as .apk's rather than installing as zip via Clockwork. It's the stock keyboard with enhancements. I've ran it on CM6 myself and it works like a champ.

Question for you guys. I haven't seen anything mentioned about this in regards to the 6.0.1 release.

Are people still having lockup/reboot issues when wifi is enabled? That's the main reason I haven't flashed this yet, and if it's fixed, I'd like to give this a spin.

You are awesome! thanks! that worked like a charm! Now I like CM6 even more! back to nosing around CM6 tweaking it and stuff! MANY THANKS!

6.0.1 seems pretty stable for me. Unlike 6.0.0, 6.0.1 isn't overclocked. Nevertheless, I think I'm going to stick with Virtuous ROM 2.3 and maybe try CM again when it's a couple releases down the line. All the reboots with 6.0.0 really put me off!

I don't know where people keep getting this notion that 6.0.1 isn't overclocked... My SetCPU sure does still have the option to take it to 1.15.

EDIT: This ROM is also eating my battery alive. I've got the exact same stuff running as I did with SkyRaider 2.5.2 and I'm going through battery considerably faster. Today, I started with a bump charge and turned the phone on at 7:30. By 2, it was crying for the charger. Charged to 100%, was down to 30% by 4:30. I could go all day (until 10 or 11) after starting the day with a bump charge on SR and I was really busy at work today, so I didn't use it a whole bunch. The only real difference there could be is the kernel. I was running Hydra SSUV.

I think they mean by default, without changing settings in SetCPU. Koush changed the default clock speed so that people having boot loop issues could use the ROM.

Ive had no issues with wifi using 6.0.1.

Has anyone had issues with the market force closing? I've already tried clearing cache and data. Fixed permissions too. Any ideas?
