Root CyanogenMod 6.0.0-RC1

Awesome!! I think I will wait until the stable version is released to flash but I'm really happy to see this.

It is fully stable now...I've had zero FCs or lock ups, and am getting the best quadrant scores I've ever gotten on it.

The two issues I'm aware of that may require work-arounds are:

- The SU issue/fix that ska-t73 posted about above
- Some protected apps may not show up in the market (same on all 2.2 ROMs IRRC)

So there's really no reason to wait, from a stability perspective.

Also, JDLFG has a new set of CM-specific kernels for the CM6 RC...I can't find his feature list, but I know he said that among other things, they integrate a "powersave" feature.

These are listed as test kernels by jdlfg. I did do a nandroid before installing, something I usually don't do for a kernel.

I'm running the 1050 w/out issue. Got a 1250 quadrant, highest I've ever gotten w/a 1050. Wifi works fine.

Again, these are for CyanogenMod only.

Sweet are they in RomManager?

Sweet are they in RomManager?

I don't know, haven't looked. If they are they would be labeled 2.2...likely not, if he still has them in "test" stage.

Just use chrometophone to send this page to your phone, click the link to download, and use ROM Manager to install zip from SD card... easy-peasy. :)

20 minutes after the 1250, I got a 1283 Quadrant. :D

This is my FAVORITE rom (after another day of sheer CyanogenMod bliss!) - hands down!

CyanogenMod 6.0.0 RC-1 has been working flawlessly and has so many cool features... and my Droid is just screaming fast with it.

lol... yea they weren't in there... I'm at work so no chrome to phone, I just went through tapatalk and downloaded it from your post :)

i got tired of waiting on bbv0.5 so i flashed this rom lol. im running jdflg's 1.2 kernal. so far this setup is running a quadrant score of about 150 less than my last setup(bbv0.4 chevy ulv 1.2). one thing i like though is the kernal im running is supposed to be a "power saver" and battery life is a concern of mine. so, i will take djkeller3's advice and give it untill tomorrow to settle in with my droid!

i have been a loyal CM flasher for a while. this time i was a little hesitant since i had been running jrummy's newest source rom and it was running awesome. well i flashed this, put fab's x theme with the modded black bar and then flashed chevy's ulv 1000 kernel and after putting the SU2.1 back on, this is now my favorite rom.

Have the same theme. Loving it. There have been some hiccups while the ROM has been settling in (Not sure if settling in really happens or it is just in my head) but things have been running smoother as time goes by and the longer i go without a reboot

An issue I had at first was not being able to switch wallpapers?

I did advance restore data from BB V0.4 using clockwork so that may have had something to do with it but anyways all problems are gone for now.

EDIT: The amount of free memory has been greatly increased when I check in the running services under the Applications setting

Cool...mtwebster's status bar color control is evidently part of the most recent nightly, so it looks like it will be in the current or next release (6.0) of CM.

It allows you to control the color of the status bar from CM Settings...very nice.

This is another case of not getting the best Quadrant score, but still having amazing performance. I had unchecked "set on boot" in SetCPU unknowingly and didn't even realize I was running at 600MHz. Very smooth. FWIW, my highest score was 1508 at 1GHz, but it was as smooth as any ROM that had scored higher for me.

Apparently, it is necessary to "reboot" (at least on my Droid), then the new wallpaper shows up. Not overly inconvenient since there is a reboot option when the power key is long-pressed.

Yep. I reboot and wallpaper shows up. I have a feeling this will be fixed in the next release

So far I have just had to restart Launcher Pro vs. the entire phone to get the Wallpaper to change.

anyone else notice some protected apps not showing up in the market? tried bgill's market fix as suggested but that just gave me a boot loop.

That is an issue w/2.2 ROMs, depending on what's in the...hmmm, IRRC, it's the build.prop file, to identify what ROM it is.

The "market fix" simply sets the value so that it looks like a 2.1 ROM to the market...no idea why it boot looped you, unless the fix replaces the entire build.prop and it's no longer compatible (the fix was created a while back when the 2.2 ROMs first started appearing).

yeah the rom rocks even with this minor issue. market worked fine on jrummy's source 2.2 but oh well. hopefully this will be resolved soon.

EDIT: after trying the market fix a second time i can confirm that it works to show protected apps.
