Root CyanogenMod 7 Unofficial Beta 5 02/20/12

Gotcha! I appreciate your honesty.. and I am sure there will be someone eventually to get something working... I just wouldn't know where to start myself.. I have never even compiled a ROM together... I guess I need to start learning if I want to try to help others as well at this! :)

That's tweaked beyond CM7 though, isn't it? How far beyond (and using what) to get it there?

The theme comes from the xda forums, also jRummy has an app called theme chooser which links you to alot of the theme chooser themes out there for our prevail running cm7. The only themes that prevail can handle is the hdpi themes from what im told.
some of the themes over at xda have extras that need to be assembled with zipthemer or metamorph from market then they can be flashed with cwm.

The Prevail is MDPI. :) it is rare that you'll find a HDPI theme that will work on our phone. Not unheard of but VERY rare.

Back your current camera up with Titanium Back FIRST , then uninstall it . Then Use CWM to install the zip in the link I posted earlier . That should fix you right up .

I ran it and it ran fine but I noticed that the Video still has the over exposed screen. I also wanted to know if the stock Camera would work on CM7.:confused:

I just put this together for you . This is the camera from CM7 Beta5 removed app zip . Flash it in CWM and give it a shot . I think that it will work . If it doesn't , just uninstall it . It will not mess anything up . :)

I'm beginning to think the issue with the force-close during Market app install or update has something to do with the Data-2-SD Kernel. The version I had before was working fine but it was using internal memory. I'm not sure to attribute this to an issue with the market app itself or my SD card.
 
Anyone recommend a specific tethering app? I am currently using 'Wireless Tether for Root Users'. For some reason, it has been freezing my phone lately. Haven't found out the reason yet. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the FA19 update. I didn't notice this problem when I was still on EJ06. I'll Odin back to EJ06 and see how it does. Still, I'd like to know how you gurus feel about tethering and the apps available.
 
I'm going to have to agree with you there X. I have not yet tried the 'no-ext' kernel, so I can't say with absolute certainty. Some of the more knowledgeable Android/Linux users mentioned differences between the two kernels and whether there was an issue with premature initialization of the SD I believe. One of these days I'm going to kidnap Hroark and a few others, tie them to chairs, and pick their brains. No Hannibal. :D

For some reason Tether never worked for me so I found out about "PDaNet" Most people say it's faster than Tether. As a matter of fact I am using PdaNet now because I don't have home internet.

I am running FA19 with the EJ06 phone.tar and my wireless tether for root users is working great . I do recommend Klink for cable tethering . I purchased it before I had root and still use it when working on computers that either don't have the wifi drivers installed yet or don't have wifi period . ;)
 
Is anyone else having issues opening slideshows? Everytime someone sends me one it does not open. Screen goes black then reloads whatever I had last on it. Wondering if it was one of the removed apps, since I did not have this issue with beta4.

Tried that the whole screen blinks once then just goes back to the text screen.

Edit. Honestly it's not a deal breaker just a problem I noticed recently. Someone made a slideshow of pictures of their new car then sent it to me.

Yeah it sure seems that way. It seems to me that it occurs when the SD first accessed before an action is done. Example, the app is being installed on to the SD card from the market place. The issue usually occurs after the download but before the installation. I've only ever had it occur two times after installation.

I've had this issue happen as well on rare occasions when I open an app. It seems to wait for the app and then puts up the force close force wait message.

As to getting everyone together in the same room and getting information from them... lol good luck ;) You may want to use a bat and whip. For others possibly an IV of caffeine into their blood supply.
 
I'm back . Installed CM7 again the other day to test the new OC kernel . Cm7 running great .

I think Hroarks been working on the other kernels .
 
Ok Ive flashed both fixes, and maps and nav just wont work. I use this stuff so I want it on the phone. I like this rom but if I cant use the apps that I want, Ima go to somthing else. Over clocking kernel was removed after I flashed map fix. Help I wanna be a CM7 user. I read through these threads so it isnt like I havent tried. Again I realy like this rom Im just stuck on somthing so sorry if I sound pissy.

What isn't working with you tube? And navigation? Both work fine for me... (oc kernel want made from mapsfix kernel, so if using oc, no maps)
Did you make any changes? Add any tweaks? Everything works GREAT here

The new OC kernel already has the map fix built in . No need to use the map fix zip . If you flash the map fix zip it will remove the OC .
