Help D802 touch screen problem

I've been trying to find some qm auto install drivers, but was only able to find the ones that come as a suite of .inf files _ .cat and .sys. Do you happen to have a link with some auto install qm drivers?

I don't. I've seen them once but can't remember where. I've just used the files as you're mentioning. Once the device is recognized as qhsusb_bulk, manually update the driver for that device pointing it to the folder of drivers.

Then the device will say whether it's 9006 or 9008.

I did the shortcircuit, it did recognized the phone as QHS_USB9006, used the SRK tools and after that I tried to enter download mode. This is the error I got. I'm stucked on this, I don't even wanna risk unplugging the phone or shutting down my computer before I get some advice on how should I proceed.
Sometimes, you can get to download mode from that screen but it may not actually show the download mode screen you are used to seeing. Assuming you already have the LG United Drivers installed on your PC, you need to watch device manager when selecting the download mode option and see if you get a device called LGE AndroidNet usb serial, or similar wording. If so, you can try to flash a kdz or tot.

What happens when you try the reboot option? How does the phone show up in device manager at that time?

In any event, the phone can be fixed but it may have to be disassembled and you may have to short the motherboard to force bulk mode and then fix with Linux. That would be the last resort and there are threads to assist you if it comes to that. Need a little more info though before heading down that road.
I tried flashing .tot, it doesn't start (arrow grayed out). I tried flashing .kdz after that, it stucked at 4% inviting me to remove usb cable, power off phone, remove battery and plug it in back, try reflash. I didn't do that because I'm quite sure that is a generic message error.
Now (but I believe even before trying to flash stock - I just didn't change USB ports and/or refresh devices in device manager) the phone again isn't recognized by the computer anymore. And what I thought can't get worse than hard brick just happened... I'm not sure anymore if LG G2 isn't brickable, after all this.
Any advice how can I revive this phone? Nothing seems to work as for the others :(

I have seen that screen also. I was able to use volume up to enter download mode, though it's not the download mode we are used to seeing. It doesn't show the same graphics but it did go into a pseudo download mode nonetheless and I was able to restore with a tot at that time.

I believe it'll show up in device manager as AndroidNet Serial Port when you use the volume up. Just like when you normally try to flash a tot. I will say, others have said the flash tools don't work for them in this mode. Not sure if I got lucky or what but it worked for me.

It didn't work for me. I got into dload9008 mode now, and I fear that in this state only tungwik (or something like that) would be able to repair the phone, for some 30-50$ fee. I suppose the tool that had fixed user's phones in the past is his and only functions in an online state, which he lately disabled. Anyway, I've seen there is the testpoint mode to force the phone either into 9006 or 9008 mode. Can I force it into 9006 mode in it's state? And start all over again, maybe with linux (yuuucks) instead srk tools which failed me.

With some really proffesional assist, I managed to revive the phone by forcing q9008 mode, installed D801 stock lollipop, rooted it, but I still have invalid baseband (even after flashing it in twrp recovery - but now phone restarts itself in about 1 min from entering the OS), IMEI, WiFi and bluetooth. I guess I have to try another baseband.zip flash or start messing with qpst. Any ideas?

Open your Sprint tot in a hexeditor. Search for "980". The first instance you should come across is the full model number followed immediately by the software version. Edit only that very first instance (model number) from ls980 to d800. Note there are 5 characters in ls980 and only four in d800 so you have to make sure that fifth character is made into a blank byte or it will not work correctly.

That will get you past the wrong model issue but you might have a cross dll error next. If so, try the d802 dll when flashing with lg flash tools. If that doesn't work, give this one a shot:

brother can u help me?????

i dont understand on hexeditor?? please guide me i am stuck in the same issue...

Just read your PM and want to make sure I have it all right. So you have an LS980 which at some point was flashed to a D802. So I assume LG Flash Tool gives a wrong model error is that correct? So you do still have working download mode?

Hello,

I write to seek for your support.

After software update / upgrade on my phone; lg g2 d802 using the tot method, the following issues have arose:

1. Touch responsiveness is so poor to an extent that the touch made gets effeted in a different area

2. Sim card is no longer recognized.

Will be grateful to receive your support on the way forward.

It sounds like the symptoms of a non d802 board inside a phone that was sold as a d802. There is much discussion about this issue in this forum and others. I have also posted the solution many times in many different threads.

Hello,i was following this post to trouble shoot my phone, which got no touch response after flashing with a stock rom D80220c.kdz
1.it is a D802 by casing marking
2.listening to
It definitely appears to be a D800 however I have seen at least one case where that upper left silver metal thing marked D800 is not correct. To be 100% sure, lift up the motherboard and on the underside of it, in tan writing, it will definitively show the model number there.
i opened the motherboard and find it LS980(sprint)
3.so i followed the procedure shared http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
tot method and LG flash tool shows that "crossDl D802 to LS980 error".
NB: i used .tot and dll for LS980 and i have working download mode
What can i do???

Try using this dll instead:

Do i need to do this? for my LS980(motherboard model) should i flash the partition?if so...what files to be downloaded???
Ok so there's 2 possibilities then. One is a bad motherboard. The other is just an unfortunate fluke when you flashed the tot. We'll hope it's the latter of the two. So now that you have fastboot mode, you'll need to use fastboot to flash the partitions. I'll assume you already have fastboot set up on your machine, if not ask.

http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G2/D800/Stock_Firmware/10o_partitions

Download aboot, boot, dbi, laf, rpm, sbl1, tz only from the above link. (be sure to left click on each, then download them individually).

Remove the numbers/dashes at the beginning of the filenames so you end up with 7 files called aboot.img, boot.img, dbi.img, laf.img, rpm.img, sbl1.img, and tz.img.

Place those 7 files in directory where your fastboot binary lives. Then change directory to that location and fastboot flash all 7 to the device:

fastboot flash aboot aboot.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash dbi dbi.img
fastboot flash laf laf.img
fastboot flash rpm rpm.img
fastboot flash sbl1 sbl1.img
fastboot flash tz tz.img

Now close cmd and unplug phone from pc. Long press power button for NO LESS than 15 seconds to ensure phone is totally off. Then press and hold volume up while at the same time plugging back into the pc. You should have download mode back. Now flash a d800 tot. However, I would re-download a D800 tot instead of using your previous one. I doubt you'll have to hexedit it now. If it went through even partially the last time, it probably thinks it's a d800 now as it should so just use the unedited d800 tot and the lg flash.dll for the d800.

and can u please explain the fastboot flashing process for partition step by step..i dotn't know anything about it. and as i can access to download mode,is their any way to get back my refurbished D802 to primarily LS980???

You are doing everything correctly. I think you'll need to try using the dll for the d802 next. You can find it HERE.

Thanks :)
on a quick note: i think the device thinks itself as a D802 though the motherboard is of LS980(clearly refurbished). So it is rejecting a .tot for LS980. it is only my personal perception about the situation as i am no expert :(

Typically you would get a "wrong model" error if the device thought it were a D802. If that were the case, then you'd want to hexedit the tot which may be where we end up anyway. The "cross dll" error is slightly different and if that's the only error you're getting, it can typically be bypassed by using the correct 8974.dll. But discovering which one is the trick.
