the cm7 by hroark is built on the froyo firmware and should be treated as it's own beast. that may be causing some trouble. if you're using that cm7 port you can get the latest beta version from tkirton's thread

the modified version i made is for stock-based roms such as shabbymod and ctmod and forces a mount point. that's probably why the gui isn't perfectly integrated come to think of it.
once you have it working you should not have to partition your sd card again unless you revert to stock kernel or shabbykernel. i know it can sound confusing but if you remember which mods you use and which kernel is installed you can keep your downloaded apps across rom changes so long as you don't wipe or recover your sd-ext.
