Root Deodexed .595 running like crap

SBF'd to .340, went to .591 then to deodexed .595, quadrant is around 1500, all apps are slow as hell, typing lags; overall running like crap. Any suggestions? I wasn't getting any help posting in the other thread and I can't put up with this anymore. Also unable to find quickclock in the market.. paid for that app and it's been great but it would NOT run after .595.
 
after you SBFed to .340 and rooted, did you do a straight install to .591? or did you do the 3 step install of .588? If you didn't I would think you would need to start over with another SBF, then use the 3step .588 install to get the latest kernal. Check your kernal # It should be

2.6.32.9-g0bae333

From what I understand, the .588 seems to be a kinda stepping stone to the last two releases. So if you didn't put in the .588 you will probably have problems.
 
I did the three step update, that's what my kernel says and I was told that.588 was un necessary... Should I SBF again and use the .588 or what? This is a nightmare.
 
The 3 step update is 588 if I am not mistaken. sbf, root, droid x backstap. install 3 step P3 rom. Install Droid 2 bootstapper and use it to Wipe cache (optional) and install 595. (make sure you use the Droid 2 backstrapper to install 595)

he is correct.


do a backup in recovery
Sbf to Froyo
root Froyo
perform 3 step install of .588
install droid2 recovery
install leaked .595 of your choice
do a restore in recovery of "data" only of your backup you made.

To make it all a little easier. I just found out that you can use Droid 2 Bootstrap on Froyo as well. ;)

personally i would skip the first and last steps here...if his phone is running like poop he should start with a clean slate...no need to potentially effect his system with possible corrupted data from the current system

personally i always make backups of stuff...but NEVER restore them...even when restoring apps with Titanium...i always just restore the app and not the data...

as we have seen with our phones so much can be different in regards to bugs and little anomalies when flashing things that i always find it best to start from a fresh clean state when doing things...the only things i back up are texts...and even then i rarely actually restore them...just keep them in the backup files that can be read through SMS&restore...
 
I did all those steps everyone listed but instead of going straight to .595 from Froyo I installed .588 THEN installed D2 boot strap and .595. Should I have skipped .588 or was it the fact that I used D2BS and not D2 recovery or are they they same thing? I think I'll just try it from a clean slate so what's the route for that? Format SD card then SBF?

1 sbf to froyo....root it
2 apply .588
3 apply .595

install .588 via DX or D2 bootstrapper
install .595 via D2 Bootstrapper


Is maderstock easier, different, better or worse than SBFing?
 
I would use the D2 bootstrap. I know a lot of people say the DX bootstrapper works fine but some say it doesn't. So rather than take the chance just use the D2 bootstrap.

Some say the maderstock is really easy but Ive never done it. I use the RSDlite methoid to SBF and I don't think it gets any easier than that. I think, and you guys can correct me if im wrong, the only difference between maderstock and RSDlite is how you flash the files.

Maderstock flashed from your phone and RSDlite flashed from your pc.

do NOT waste your time with maderstock. Your chances of boot looping are really high. besides you need to get comfy with the SBF process.

you can use DX bootstrapper to install the .588

then you have to use the D2 one to put on the .595

the deal is once you get on a GB build the DX bootstrapper is a no go
 
Don't touch Maderstock!

Use the VRZ_MB810_2.3.34_1FF_01.sbf file. If you can't find it, just google for it. It's also probably on this site somewhere.

As soon as I hit the submit button, I saw that trophynuts and I had posted at the same time.

Which did when I flashed dxgbrooted and been using D2 since. DX better or just more suited to the DX?
 
Here's the steps I took for myself yesterday:
1. SBF to Froyo
2. update to .588 via stock recovery
3. root with gingerbreak and D2 bootstrap
4. update to .595 (deodexed) via clockwork

Running .595 with root ;)
