Root [DEV][ROM][ALPHA][WIP] CyanogenMod 10 for the LG Esteem 4g LG-MS910

Sorry to derail but wait for the Galaxy S4 in May-ish instead of going for the S3 or any other higher quality phone for that matter until around that time/summer.

You weren't the one who originally brought that up, so how did you derail? But, since we're on about new releases, any word on the Optimus G? :D

I've gotten over the s3 fever. With the #2 2.7 Rom, and waiting for this, its enough to hold me over. I really want to see how this will run on the esteem and if I dont like it, I'll sell it and buy another phone...big whoop, wanna fight about it?

I don't think anything out there is worth selling the esteem for at this point. The changes are just not worth it.

With esteem you get:
  • Sick battery life if you get the extended battery
  • Loads of internal space
  • A CPU that you can OC
  • Sick response time if you use the "seeder" app

The only bad things -- for me -- about the esteem is the lack of RAM. Someone, maybe PG, pointed out the Esteem RAM is the same amount of RAM as the Optimus M, which was a horrid mistake on LG's part.

To upgrade this phone, I want:

  • A way better CPU
  • At least double the RAM
  • More internal space
  • The same or higher battery capacity

Nothing on the market at Metro meets those qualifications. So, I'm going to be hanging out and hoping that CM works on Esteem unless the Optimus G arrives and even then I'll be waiting for a price cut and looking for an extended battery. I don't see the point of paying huge amounts of money to upgrade this phone to something that is barely better. I'd just wait for PG and stick with Number 2 in the meantime.

This is also what I'm looking for but i don't think anything out is worth it (LG quad core). I would like Quad core, 2 gigs ram for my next device. The UK S3 is quad core, but US got 2 gigs ram. I'll wait it out.

Anyway, I will donate for saving me some money PG! Great news and happy new year!
 
man i missed my esteem now that cm10 is amolst done but i made the move to the sequent cant complaint running ics soon to release cm10 almost done but people see if u wait for stuff u get it is that simple hope you guys enjoy pg's work

What's a seeder app
 
Tried to look around but couldnt get passed the PIN entry at lockscreen oops lol. But now i cant restore my backups. So i am kind of stuck in recovery. Wont load roms after flash either

Help? :(

Update: Been on boot animation since i posted...

The XDA link was shared here days ago by someone else. That's how I learned of it. I tried the free app from this link and then purchased it so I could get automatic updates from the market (many will probably do the same).

The S3 comes with a 2100 mAh battery. The Esteem comes with a 1500 mAh battery. Most of the users with the S3 say they get about a full day of use EASILY. And you can get extended batteries for the S3. Also the only S3 that metro sells comes with 16 GB internal memory. Although like 4-5 GB are taken up by the ROM and apps.
