Root [DEV] WIP CM9 (Camera) [updated 2/23/2013]

I flashed the ROM with 4-29 gapps and it is stuck at the boot logo. I wiped everything properly. I was coming from 10-15 cm7.

EDIT: I was also using the new 6.0 cwm
 
Use the gapps in the cm9 thread not sure the version but that is what I was using
 
That's the one I used. I am also using the new 6.0 cwm recovery...do you think that may be an issue? I also redownloaded the rom and reflashed, same result.

It's possible I am still on Mantera's 5.5.0.4
 
Yes the recovery was the problem. I flashed Mantera's 5.5.0.4 and reflashed the ROM and it is working. Also amazing work on the camera. I'm so excited! Thanks MTDEV!
 
Once all the exciting changes are done, let me know. I am willing to test and rewrite my FAQ entirely. But I will need some assistance with the formatting. A ROM that belongs in a science museum as a piece of computing history deserves something better than my ugly fonts and white space with black text, trust me. Also, we will need some new boot logos for CM7 and CM9, done MTDEV style, since you guys busted ass without any help from Moto, VM, or official CM support (mlt knocking CM, though, they would not have had the time to do this). You all have done the impossible, and when I get out of college, I hope I can do the same magic with code. I feel like using my Triumph again just to be amazed by all your hard work. When it's fully working, I suggest we make a PSA to the mods and the community. Many people want it to work, but won't know because this will likely get buried in the forums.
 
My god, I took a picture(panoramic) with this build 12/31/12 and it saved it. AWESOME JOB GUYS!!!!!! Thank You bsydz, g60.

And can I just Flash this over the 11-31 one or do i need to do a wipe?
 
Awesome news on the camera progress!!!

I have been lurking on the CM9 threads waiting on upgrading to ICS because of camera. Very excited!

It still doesn't store the picture but the display now works!!!! It's off set but that is easy enough to fix!!! Here is the new Beta ROM! The reason for the date is 31 is I started the build yesterday!!

SO awesome to see the progress on CM9 for the MT and that you are still willing to dev for it even with your phone upgrade...kudos g60 (and to the rest of the MTDEV team too!) :)
 
The level of determination is nothing short of staggering!

All I've been waiting for to be able to run ics and you guys have done it.

I wonder if getting the HDMI output to work will be as much difficult.

In short, yes. It's not a part of the AOSP FroYo or GB ROMs. It needs to be figured out almost from scratch. Although sense it's in the ICS AOSP and our kernel supports it, it may not be that hard. And now I have my first HDMI TVs I could possibly do somehing about it. Maybe later, though.

I really appreciate all you are doing, I am paitent...hopefully when it is all done, one of you guys can re-root my phone. If anyone lives close enough by I can bring it , otherwise I will fedex it it to you, so you can do it for me, I will ...OF COURSE.. pay you whatever for doing it for me, as I have a guy who sometimes does computer stuff for me. I have since downloaded "questionable" videos, in his opnion, so I don't want to take a chance on him wiping my downloads off my phone.
 
don why not just use the guide and save some money its super easy to root and rom ur phone and once u learn how u can do it as often as u want

I have been patiently watching these threads from the weeds waiting for a crack in the case and this is a great way to ring in the new year. I knew a breakthrough was inevitable because the MTDEV Team has a never quit attitude. Thanks for your hard work, I can't wait for more updates!!
