Exactly, the words on the screen tell you to press the power button 3 times to continue. This is the Press Power Button 3 Times screen. Once you continue from this screen it will display the LG Logo then bring you STRAIGHT to CWM.
 
nope hitting the power button will factory reset my phone it says nothing about press the power button 3 times

ok im on my pc now... ok i don't think im doing this right or i don't have the most updated cmw i don't get a screen that says hit the power button 3 times... i hold the power+the two volume buttons and release the power button when i feel the vibration and keep holding the volume buttons until i see the screen that says hit the power button three times i don't get that screen

Here made simple. Download install open press reboot into recovery.

And theres only one CWR. So if you have CWR you have the right one.

sorry guys if i seem a little slow i don't stay up on things to much and this is my first time i run into this kinda problem but i got it into recovery lmao just like you both say and im going to flash cm9 ima check this out to see how it looks..thanks again bb shortly i might need your help again...lol i hope not but u never know

last on this rom i see him say don't wipe data or do wipe data to flash this rom? something about advanced something
 
Dude... Every one of us that have installed CWM have this screen that pips up when we want to get into CWM and we ALL have to hit the power Burton 3 times to get into it. Add long as when you installed CWM then it will be there. What methods did you use to install CWM? Rom Manager or the Installer file from within Windows? Either way if it told you that CWM was successfully installed then go ahead and do it. Heck if you want to treasure yourself then just Download ROM Manager from the market and reinstall CWM and once you see that it is successfully installed then you will know that you definitely have it but don't worry, if you installed it through either off those before then you have nothing to worry about and can just Tao the power Burton 3 times to Getty into CWM. Just believe us, we deal with thus almost literally everyday.

Let us know when you get into it so i can GUI back to watching my movie LoL there is no problems. Our CWM installation does not get rid of this screen at all, it just replaces the stock recovery (what you see after you hit the power button 3 times without CWM) with CWM recovery which is what you see after the same "Hit Power Button 3 Times" screen. It is up to you but i would hit it before people get tired if waiting LoL and don't bother helping anymore... just trying too help you out and the only people trying to help you out that i see are the amongst the most reputable people on this forum from Shiny and Biggie to myself.

dude... calm down a little i just said im not to hip on this rom stuff and i have read in other threads and forums it is supposed to say in text to hit the power button three times and i don't see it nowhere on my screen..and i don't deal with this much im lookin to get ics on my phone this one im useing is old and outdated... i didn't know i was supposed to hit when im at the factory reset screen...no disrespect inteended
 
does not boot for me just sits at the splash screen was i supposed to wipe dalvik? or both delvik and data? i didn't wipe anything when i loaded this rom..
 
I AM calm, just trying to get you to understand that people aren't going to sit aorund here all day and talk you into it. We know what screen you are talking about and we deal with that exact screen every day. Now technically you WILL have ICS on your device but if you read other posts then you would have noticed that you will not have it on there for long because it is unusable. You will not jump into this ROM thing you say but you don't know that you won't have this ROM as a usable one? Either way, back to what I was saying. I am calm but you need to understand that WE know what we are doing. Permanently Erase User Data & Reset Settings? Press Power Button To Confirm And Any Other Key To Cancel.
If you are talking about this screen then you have nothing to worry about if you have in fact installed CWM. Like I said before, I am not trying to be rude or anything but want to make sure that you understand that people are going to quit helping if you just ask for help then blow it off. We know what you need to do and are actually looking at your phone in our minds PERFECTLY. I know that it came off as rude definitely and I am sorry that it seemed like that but I am just trying to help you out and make sure you do it NOW because I don't want you to be shunned like some other members on here are/have been. Now hopefully if you KNOW that you have rooted and installed CWM succesfully then maybe my quote of what I remember the screen says(Possibly even Word For Word? LoL) that it will help you decide that we know what we are doing. Shiny, Bigge, PNut, PG, LD, Fuzzy, Budde2 and others that I may not remember off the top of my head are experts on this device and can help out with almost literally anything on/pertaining to this device. Not being rude once again, just trying to give incentive. Also, if you dont have CWM installed and hit the power button it will only delete the User Data but will keep root just to make sure you know. You will be fine and after you do this you will understand that we are ALL knowledgable here and are here to MAKE sure you do things right and trust us. Let me know when you hit that button LoL because we are going to make sure you fo the rest correctly which is actually just as easy as you should be hitting that Power Button 3 times. If anything, get Google Talk as a desktop client and add us from it to talk instantly to us and make it easier. No it sits at that screen for quite a while. Some people say that if you reboot after inital boot then it boot loops but this is false as you can boot back into CWM and then hit Reboot system and it will boot fine into CM9 but will still be as buggy as can be. I still need to let PG know that too LoL How long have we been waiting on this boot animation? Mine was close to 3 minutes but all depends on how many auto-start apps you have along with how many System/Apps you have.

im not doubting anyone here but i will doubt my phone and whats installed on it and also you not knowing what i have in my hands should tell you that if im not wanting to push a button that is telling me it will do a factory reset on my phone i hope you would understand why i would question that and hesitate pushing power when the screen is telling me push power button to confirm this factory reset..im not trien to be an ass here i have been for a week now looking around forums (many different forums) and threads to find out how to get into recovery with out using cwm app and this is what i have seen in almost all the forums look for the words push power button three times so when i load up the screen by useing the combo buttons thats all i would see nothing else so i thought i was doing something wrong and i didn't want to bother people with this easy task until i have got to the point of not being able to go further...and the high caps gave your frustration away but no worries im cool...

update.. it just stays at the loading screen i guess i will wait for this to become stable i just wanted to see what it will look like...
 
Now i do know what you have on your hands and I did emphasize on the if you have installed CWM then do it. Now if you were not sure if you had it installed then you should have said that you do not know for sure but i did not read about you not being sure about your installation. Now if YOU knew ME then YOU would know that i use all caps to emphasize whatever word is typed. just like in your case you recognized the all caps and obviously payed attention to them LoL. Once again all of us can see what you have on your hands, it does not matter what you have read else where or seen else where when we already know what you are talking about. Just remember, i tell you things to do because i know exactly what you are talking about but then you tell me that i am not calm because i use all caps? LoL who is the one who knows what they are talking about here? HaHa. Still love ya though, just remember that we are all here to help and are all knowledgeable here and can help with anything. How about we all keep it safe. Can Never be to careful :) and honestly if you're having doubts as to if your phone is rooted and has cwm on it then just go to the market and download a root checker. If its rooted then it'll tell you. If you're not then there are excellent guides on this forum for each version. So if you are rooted then download ROM manager and install cwm from the app. If you have any questions on how to flash it via ROM manager then ask one of them or someone that can assist you so that way you won't have any doubts. :)

Yes, now hopefully you made a back up? The same procedure is in effect for a restore for a backup just in case you didn't notice it LoL except this tinge you must select the backup you want to restore but if you have only made one backup then that is quite an easy choice to make HaHa

no i have 4 different backups for roms.. but i got it back up to my stable rom.. i would like to see what the cm9 would look like any post on the screen shots?
 
After being around this forum for a certain period of time you will know who you can trust. It will become very obvious.

And if THESE people tell you that you need to SIT on your phone to get it into CWM you better be lifting your ass cheek up and sliding your phone up under it. LOL.

Point is NO ONE is going to steer you wrong that knows THIS PHONE (Epayne,Gbig,Pnut,PG,MT, etc....) So if YOU followed the directions then all will be good. We promise :D

With that being said, enjoy the forum. Try to give back as much as you take and your experience here will be splendid. :D
 
And just use Rom toolbox, rom manager, quick reboot to get into recovery instead of the power vol button trick. Bypass the "reset" all together. The only time I do that is when Im in boot loop, otherwise I just boot into CWM from an app, or the power button if the ROM allows it. :D
 
Fuzzy, the problem was that when he installed the unstable CM9 he didn't want to actually install it until he coitus get back into CWM. and for the
kind words about all of us i must thank you, sir. Harsh way of setting it but that its the way i see it and that is the best way to see it.

Okay, well what exactly did it do while trying boot, once boot animation started did it ever go blank other than to restart the images FOR the animation? LoL if you want i can show you a video. For what there is to check out, i wood net that a picture would last longer. I can show you if i want. PG us working on it a lot to get it better and i am also but not too much progress by either off us i believer, well at least on my end.loL
