ok guys i noticed if you remove your lte card from the phone and restart cm9 your cell signal comes back fully and you can still receive calls.

Ok. I am a noob.... But geek all the way! So my best understanding is that 4g card is pretty much like the nic in your PC. Network Interface Card.... It identifies you as active for service. Provides a network address. IP or otherwise... Identifies you're location for prl for phone privilege services.......

In other words, it won't talk to the nearest tower, without one.


Or do I need to eat crow, and apologize...........

I believe what he means its that if you remove it then bit CM9 that itwill still give you cellular signal which makes sense.
 
I was told by a metro person that removing the lte card voids your warranty or screws with your service. Not sure how they find out.
 
It soups actually have you lose service to be honest but would not Voss your warranty. They wouldn't allow as easy access to it if it did.
 
Okay, for any off-topic posts I make, sorry (I have ADD..not too serious but enough to distract me sometimes) So epayne, is the trebuchet launcher stock for cm9? I noticed that using ADW launcher EX cleared up some lag, but pressing buttons and opening apps was still laggy, as was clicking things in settings. I have a quick question though, I heard that ICS works badly on 512mb ram devices, how much memory does CM9 eat up? with my ROM (broken out with a few tweaks) i average about 150mb used, I couldnt see ram usage in CM9 because it kept rebooting on me and I couldn't get application manager installed..
 
I read. It seems Ics and RAM have a rather close relationship.meaning ics is a RAM whore. And our graphics card in the phone uses 128mb of ram. So maybe a kernal hack to give the CPU more RAM would help loose some lag. Maybe something implemented in the ROM itself??
 
Ask we need to do is get the lag lower and yes trebuchet is the stock launcher for CM9. will see what i can't do for the launcher next time i upload an update
 
Hey Payne or PG, I was messing with some other cm9 roms for other devices and just poking around in them and noticed a difference in the libs>egl folders from ours and others.

Also in the egl config an other device's config is:

*blankline*
0 1 adreno200

but ours is

0 0 android
0 1 adreno200

Also noticed in the egl folder "libq3dtools_adreno200" isnt in ours but is in other cm9's and also in GSE.

Just curious if thatd fix any issues....

oops on the files, they all loaded but a couple are in /lib. The egl.conf I had tweaked b4, must havae gotten overwritten when I put the ICS files in. And the one you showed it incorrect anyhow lol, it pose to be 0 0 adreno200 ;)
 
Dude i have STARED in the libs and egl folders... I think i hate you lol lol lol but then again love you. just another step i can skip haha
 
In 2 different CM9 roms (other then ours) in the lib/modules theres 2-4 files in the mod folders...our has 27 Ahaha One of the CM9 roms Ive been looking in is an official nightly and the other is one by TeamDirt...official has 2 and the teamdirt has 4.... Perhaps we have way too many in there? :D

kernel modules? That all depends on the kernel n modules n who compiles it, some modules can be compiled into the kernel itself. Some of my ports have just 2 or 3 and I have seen some with more than we have lol
 
So I wanna know what's going to be sooooo cool about this rom that black plague doesn't have.if its just for looks I have my own preference in home launchers.if it runs faster then I guess it will be worth it.but what makes this cm9 stand out?of course with all do respect for the guys working hard on this.

answered that a few post up, only time will tell ;)

and no it wont have the tablet navbar, not real sure why any of you are getting it anyhow since I disabled it lol
