Do I have to wipe anything if I am coming from mrree rom. If so it doesnt say so in post 1

Yeah always wipe between roms... back up your data with an app if you want to keep settings and apps.

so I'm getting the FCs again. the only thing that stops the FC is rebooting recovery, wiping dalvik/cache ,fix permissions, reboot. if I do that I don't get FCs but if I try to reboot my phone without doing all that I get FCs.
I'm thinking its a problem during boot up bc my phone vibrates a lot during bootup and the FC notice is there right away (bootanimation > lock screen>fc notice). then FCs randomly but also every time I try to use stock dialer

I Don't Believe They Properly Tell People How To Flash A Rom So For Noobs.

First U Delete Everything On Ur Sd Card Accept For Ur Chev Rom. (This Is Why U Gettin Force Close Issues)
Second U Wipe Data, Dalvik, Cache Partition
Third Go To Advance And Wipe Dalvik Cache Again, Battery Stats And Fix Permission. Now U Ready To Add A Rom Without Drama....So My Advised Is To Start Over And Follow These Steps Every Time U Flash A Rom....

I Flash The Transform Ultra, Huawei Ascend, Coby Kyros.........

There Is No Need To Delete All Files On Your SD Card.. <-- man that was hard how do you capitalize all those letters?

Just follow Mavrik's instructions to make sure you don't have issues...

go to your sdcard and delete android,
android secure,
data,
lost.dir

reboot into CWM
advanced
wipe dalvik
reboot system now

if it doesnt work, delete them again and re-flash the whole rom again

you HAVE to delete these files from your sdcard before you flash a new ROM.. ALWAYS

android writes these new when you flash a fresh system when it boots for the first time

I'll make sure chevan puts it in the OP..

thanks did all that... worked for a day and again... FCing! so every time I boot up I have to wipe cache/dalvik and fix permissions, then I don't get FCs till next bootup.

I installed the new package and then installed the new kernel to fix the screen issue. Everything looked good until I used Titanium Backup to restore my apps, then it's Android System FC's particularly when I use the phone dialer or something related like contacts. Tried a couple different times reinstalling, fixing permissions, clearing cache/dalvik etc but always same result. Reverted back to previous version now with the new bobZ kernel and everytghing is smooth again. Hope this info helps debugging. Probably sticking with 5.1 until a 2.3.6 version comes out I suppose.

Hey all, Ive been listening to you guys. Just been busy with work. Chev an I think we know what the issue is and we are working on it.

for the ones having issues, try reinstalling the rom this way:
(this is just a test)

1.) reboot into recovery.
2.) do a backup
3.) after backup go to the main menu
4.) go to mounts & storage
5.) plug your usb cable into pc
6.) mount usb storage
7.) on your pc, go to your sdcard and delete Android, android secure, LOST.DIR, and data folders. ( you can backup your whole sd to your pc if you like)
8.) safely remove from pc and unmount sd in cwm
9.) (still in mounts & storage) format system
10.) format data
11.) format cache
12.) (do not format sdcard)
13.) ***Go Back*** to main menu
14.) install zip from sdcard
14.) choose zip from sdcard
15.) (choose 5.3.0.zip in the list) ;)
16.) let it run...........
17.) right after it finishes installing. (that means do not reboot yet) go to advanced menu
18.) wipe dalvik
19.) fix permissions
20.) ***Go Back***
21.) reboot system now

this is just to insure you are getting a clean install and how i flash every ROM... let me know if this helps or whatever your results are please?

thank you for sticking it out :D

Make a backup of your current ROM right now.

Disclaimer: Neither i nor my partner is not responsible for any damage or problems caused to your device try this at your own risk, we have already tested it on over 4 different ultra's and they turned out fine.

How to install 5.3.0 properly

First backup all your apps and important files

￭Download the zip file do NOT unzip it, Place it on your sdcard

1. Boot into CWM.
2. Flash zip
3. select Choose zip file
4. Locate where you had put the Zip file
5. choose "ShevronRomVer5.3.0"
6. confirm "YES "
7. wait for script to finish
8. reboot phone
First boot could take up to 5 minutes, the reason is because the ROM is going through its first boot and loading all the apps data etc.

Is $hevRon Rom compatible with the Warp or only with the Ultra?

GPS fix is coming soon guys, im getting my phone mid next week. we will be putting together some fixes that might help and when i get my phone i will test them, Plus any anyone get my a Logcat of whats happening here?. Until then if you use GPS on a daily basis Please revert back to 5.1 thank you.

EDIT: Problem Solved
For those who are having GPS problem please go to settings--> application--> manage--> All tab. once you go that go down to google maps and tap on it. then select uninstall all updates and clear data/cache. Once done please reboot your phone then open the android market and hit the menu button and tap on my stuff and update google maps. reboot your phone and test GPS again.
Thanks to Mackharoni for the fix.

The above solution didn't work for me. (I wasn't presented the option to "uninstall updates," so I just cleared the data, rebooted and updated.)

I have also tried clearing google services framework data, and I dowloaded an app to clear gps data. I cannot get GPS connectivity for any app.

Any advice?

Did you d the factory reset like it said in the intructions? Your the only one that has this problem

Is this in reply to blufenix?

I am having this issue as well and so are a bunch of others.

Also this fix did not work for me mav and chev, though this kernel works fine with 5.1

EDIT: including gps, no system forcecloses etc..

Request for new rom version:

Brightness switch for the power control bar in the notification panel. Powerwidget uses something along the lines of all the way on, all the way off and auto and that would be phenomenal in my book :D

I just sold my sister on the transform ultra. Ima have a lil' loota coming to the forums soon! Wondering if you'd be willing to do a pink version of the new mavrick and chev rom? Obviously its not worth it for one user but I'd be curious how many girls would like a pink or purple version to see if it was worth your time...

During this as i selected format system it rebooted, and also during wipe dalvik cache it rebooted by itself. fyi not sure if it means anything yet.

Well I feel stupid. I have been going from thread to thread to thread and finally decided this looked like the best option to get my touch screen fixed and get a bunch of bonuses in the process.

I followed instructions and it ran for 40+ minutes with wait for USB showing. I than enabled USB debugging in developer section. It went through all the steps and after finishing 4/4 it rebooted into CWM and I can't get out of CWM.

I feel stupid and the down volume+camera+power button is not booting into downloading mode :(.

I am going to keep working on it, anyone have advice besides claiming an rma? Worried about it only booting into cwm....

*Edit* ok to get to Downloading mode from CWM hold down down volume+camera while on the CWM screen and than also push and hold power. Hold down all three and it comes up again. Note pressing power selects the highlighted option so make sure the highlighted option is power off. Ok don't hold the buttons too tight, volume down to tight triggers volume up lol....

Still can't get past cwm, tried odining stock sprint images from other thread and it just hangs, trying this again....

*Edit again* I am going to try what was stated below if this does not work. I figure I got CWM so might as well try and make the phone do all the work and take out the com as a variable and placed 5.3.0 on the sd card and told it to load from the sd card. Told it to reboot and am giving it 5 mins right now for first load up. However not sure if not seeing the samsung logo on reboot is bad after this method of install or not. Lots of negatives. I know it takes 5 mins acording to OP after update to load apps and junk. I rebooted and there was no samsung logo, but giving it 5 mins of course.

During this as i selected format system it rebooted, and also during wipe dalvik cache it rebooted by itself. fyi not sure if it means anything yet.
please follow the instuctions about doing a backup first..
cwm for the ultra has a two min reboot flaw but doing a restore or a backup disables the reboot thing afterwards. so if your going to do something that takes more than two min, you must do a backup first.
even if you just go and delete that backup afterwards. ;)

when writing the instructions I may have made a mistake.

try this:
open odin as admin
do not check the one package button
press the "OPS" button in odin and choose the transformultra.ops from the file
press the "PDA" button in odin and choose the pda.tar from the file
place your phone into downloading mode then plug into usb cable and pc
odin should detect the com port in yellow
press the start button in odin
it should only take about 2 min. anymore than that and something went wrong.

if you still cant get it to flash properly and it still boots into cwm then just pm me and i'll get you back to a working rom in an hour. dont want to see anyone with a useless phone

I am not sure if that's the problem. I did it with this approach as well and had the same longer time, about 10 minutes and says this in the message box

Just wanted to post my 2 cents worth. I am not having any issues or problems with the 5.3 rom. However, I did the wipe, clear cache and fix permissions AFTER installing the 5.3 rom, not before. when I did that every problem went away. My GPS works fine, my Bluetooth works fine, I am having no FC issues, and my battery issues went away, also I am having no phone freeze ups during calls, I am able to access the dial pad and everything. I don't know if this will help everyone, but I do know it worked perfect for me. Also I am using TB pro and restored 7 apps. Not having any issues. So I recommend anyone having problems try the wipe, and fix permissions after installing the new rom.

thank you for sticking it out :D

I tried this twice, but my GPS issues still persist. Some details:

* When I followed the above instructions it would fail to unmount /system in order to format, so I reboot to recovery (which fixes the unmount issue), wipe all the partitions listed, and then reboot to recovery again, do a backup to keep recovery up, then flash the zip, wipe dalvik, and fix permissions.

* When I enable GPS and open Google Maps, I do not get the GPS icon in my notification bar. When I click on the "find me" button that looks like a compass rose, it just says "waiting for location" and then "your location is currently unavailable..."

* GPS for me worked fine on 5.1/stock/etc

Paul I believe that those having issues are having issues after installing bobz new oc kernel on top of shevron 5.3. I can't speak for others but that's where things went sour for me.
