Root {DISCONTINUED}MegaTron 6.2.5 (Updated 7/13/13)

Ok if that's the case then what's the need to create partition on sd card??

By creating a partition you will unlock another feature (splitting apps between int and ext) and not just to your int or ext mem. there many apps out there that you can't run from sd you will still be able to link those apps (not only those but all your apps) to your second partition so your apps will be split betwen int and ext. Saving you internal mem

And no is not needed (is a choice)

If you delete it you will not have a boot animation sound. You can replace it with any mp3 file you have as long as you rename it poweron.snd.

You can't use an mp3 and just rename it to poweron.snd even if you rename it will not work .snd ext is raw data (header-less) so you have to convert the mp3 to .snd

OK.
I have seen it on the threads before about changing the mp3 to snd and it work. Somewhere in Loota's thread when he was figuring out how to change it.

EDIT: let me see if I can find that thread.

I just covert my mp3 to wav using RecForge from the market. I then rename the wav to poweron.snd. You want to use a mp3 ringtone maker to cut the mp3 down to size before converting to wav. ;)

were you able to use it as your boot up sound?

Edit: I know mp3 and wav files can be renamed to .ogg for your ui, notification ,alarms sounds

I made my custom by converting an mp3 to a wav using audacity. Then renaming it poweron.snd ....but mine gets really loud near the end. I have no idea...lol

OK on audacity there is a - + bar on your left under Mute and Solo when you point the mouse @ it it and click and hold says Gain:0 DB that's the volume setting play whit it till you find your desire volume ...

edit:
if you are using Audacity do it this way and you wont have no problem @ all:

Audacity
Click the File tab then Open (chose your mp3 sound) and Open
Just make sure your soundbite is Stereo, and 44100Hz
After you are DONE editing you sound
Click File > Export
Set Save as type: to "Other uncompressed files"
Click Options
set Header to "RAW (header-less)"
and Encoding to "Signed 16 bit PCM"
click OK and save the file as poweron.snd

that's it have fun and good luck!

This rom is fully working no issues at all... :D

I agree with Slayer. I've been using this rom since it was first released (August or September) without issue. I used the gps to navigate to a family member's house a few weeks ago, use the bluetooth on an almost daily basis to listen to music at work, and crashing or force-closing has only happened as a result of something I did (such as loading an app wrong or that is incompatible with the phone in the first place). I will admit, the first boot-up after installing the ROM or one of the themes made for it, it almost seems like it's stuck in a bootlloop, but it just takes a little extra time.
