Discuss all Moto Droid Razr/Maxx HD rumors/release date/speculation/news

Some reps don't know about new phones until they are trained on them. All reps (corporate reps anyway) are told not to discuss unreleased phones. If you start talking about an unreleased phone in a store another customer could overhear and decide to wait for that device. Since Verizon wants customers signing new contracts they don't want you waiting for the next best thing. They want you getting what is available right that minute.

Thanks man. I will take a look. I have pretty much decided that I am going to get this or the Galaxy S3. The only problem with the S3 is that I am hearing the battery life isn't that great (but people always complain about that with pretty much all Android phones) and the reception/signal for the phone is horrible.

Battery life is mehhhh and as long as you are in a good signal area it is OK. My sons MAXX started having problems and we had Verizon do a CPO replacement. While waiting omit I let him take my S3 since I had just got the iPhone 5 (got tired of waiting on the MAXX HD). He said the signal was poor for him in Tyler, TX where the MAXX had good signal.

LOL
I asked the sales rep when they were possibly expecting the droid razr maxx/hd and he had no clue what I was talking about.
r :(

I like to do this, and then I'll walk them over to a tablet and pull up the myriad articles, and presentation, and hands-on videos on youtube!

Battery life for the GS3 with 4G blows the Razr away and is better than the Razr even using 3G. The condition though needs to be medium to better signal. If a weak signal, Razr has better battery life with 3G. This comparison condsiders the offset for different battery sizes.

In any case, seems obvious the HD will be a nice device.

motorola seems to have the best signal reception than any other carrier out there. not real sure about LG as i dont hear much about LG. but moto hardware is by far superior.

I'm sure they will fix it before release. Problem is this was found this late in the process and it might delay the release date further. By that time, Note 2, 5" Incredible X will be on VZW.

I also heard about this antennae issue and read on another forum that: Motorola has been aware of the hardware issue for awhile and is working around the clock to get the razr hd/maxx released by or before black Friday. The phones were originally supposed to all come out at the same time around late September, but because of the antennae issue Motorola had to push back the dates on the razr hd/maxx to sometime November.
I apologize for not having the source handy.

Droid razr hd is available for purchase in south america albeit a different version than whats to be seen on Verizon network, but a release is a positive note. I can't see Motorola pulling another droid bionic scheme on us especially after having a huge press event.

** take the following with a grain of salt***
A Verizon MAP has the release date(s) as Oct 18th
My guess is Motorola is/are doing what they need to do to fix it so they can push it out and still maintain their pricing schedule - 199.99 and 299.99

Otherwise if its much later I don't see many people paying top dollar for a aging processor 1 gb of ram with a bit bigger battery.

SO.. fear not fellow razr anticipators, I still think we will have the phone in our hands before December.. i hope :)

I will, unfortunately. I don't believe in other manufacturers. Motorola or bust. The only thing that can tear me away from HD Maxx is a Moto Nexus. I can't imagine anything coming out within two years that the S4 and 1gb of RAM won't be able to handle. Netflix, hulu+, YouTube, browsing? All I need.

I love moto also, but have nothing against HTC except usually bad battery life, which is big. However, they do have quality products, powerful, and good screens. The HOX is very nice phone, except: no SD card, non removable battery that is too small. This is where the HD will rock it, but if their new phone comes it out address those bad shortcoming, I'll be looking. Their 5" is looking nice.

Me too! The Maxx HD will be my next phone. (provided it is released however) I got my Droid X on launchday back in 2010 so I've had it for 2 years and 2-1/2 months (so far) and the only thing it can't do that I'd like it to is connect via 4G. So I imagine that the Maxx HD will last me 2+ years also, just like servo086.

So.... message to Motorola, Get the antenna problem resolved get a Maxx HD into my hands! Please! :smokingsomb:

Hey guys, I dunno if this is old news or not (or if it really even belongs here) but apparently its entirely possible to upgrade on contract while keeping your unlimited data. You need atleast two phones to do it, but you order the phone as an upgrade on the line which is not yours, and then call Verizon CS and have them transfer the phone to your line (do not turn it on until you call them or you're screwed). Seems pretty simple and it's working for many people. Just throwing it out there since this is new to me.

Was going to buy the RHD outright but not anymore thanks to this. Now I'm getting all excited haha.

How can that be either one if Moto is back on the drawing board with antenna upgrades? Pre-order page? I cannot read german.

Might be the difference between GSM and CDMA. I know little about those technologies, but the RHD has been on sale in South America for a little over a week now. Doubt it'd have been sold if the issues were bad with GSM,

EDIT: Apparently its available in Australia as well.

Yeah, I agree OTD. I can't believe that Motorola, the Royalty of Radio Reception, would be iDiots and send the device through the FCC at less than perfection.

The same folks at Howard Forums that are writing about it were also credible in the past. Seems it may have more than a grain of salt it. Perhaps a small shaker.

BTW, Moto released the gosh awful DX2, so they are capable of being goobers.
