At the moment, I'm running CyanogenEris and haven't had any problems beyond a little tweaking to get MMS to work.

WW just wont flap on my Eris.. I've tried two of them now.. perhaps down the line our good man andrizoid will have it all smoothed out; he knows I'm one of his fans.

Which version of Cyanogen are you running? I saw an XDA post referring to the latest as being buggy as compared to its predecessor.

I shied away from Lightningbolt after reading of its drag on resources (which seems odd, given its name).
 
ELB never seemed to be a resource hog for me, but I never ran it for more than a day.

I'm running CyanogenEris 1.1 by Framework. Not sure what version of CM it's based off of, but it's been about a month since it was updated, so it wouldn't be based off the newest release that just came out a few days ago.

Is the kernel overclocked? You mentioned 767, so I doubt it; you're probably running SetCPU, which I'd like to do.

I'd like to experiment further with overclocking, but as it is my favorite ROM has the kernel clocked at 710 maximum so freezing is the result of attempts at defeating that.
 
CELB 2.7 and Aloysius Snow. I've been running CELB for a while now and loving it. And after seeing Hookem's screenshots, made me go look into some more settings to speed her up a bit.

I too have been following Kaos's thread and tried out his latest Froyo release too. He's almost there and I can't wait for it 'cause I'll be all over it!
 
I'm not exactly sure what you're asking. CE does allow OCing up to 768 MHz through the use of setCPU or another program. I'm only stable at 710 MHz though.
 
All right.. I have had xtrROM, along with vBoost, flashed for about an hour and a half now.

Fast little guy, isn't it. And that was before overclocking with SetCPU.. it tolerated any setting I put it on, even over 800, without freezing up.

I settled it in on 748/528 and am watching things.

I'm using Home and have installed all my favorite apps. It's really nice to have a non-Sense ROM to compare with Senseable 3.1.

I'd forgotten about Launcher Pro.. I used it non-rooted for a few weeks and ended up going back to Sense.

I'll have another go with it now that I'm rooted to a vanilla ROM.


[edit] .. now I remember why I got rid of Launcher Pro; it includes a "phone" icon in the dock and it cannot be removed, that is one of the annoyances of Sense that has driven me to the vanilla ROMs. Senseable 3.1 is great but with that one thing I was hoping rooting would enable me to fix without getting rid of Sense (or in this case, Launcher Pro).

We have a "phone" button on the Eris, developers. We don't need another one on the screen. aarrggghh! :D

Sure it can - press and hold on the icon and you can change it to anything you wish, as you can with any of the other icons.

LP is now my launcher of choice. I'd stopped using all Sense widgets anyway, except the toggles, and found an app that can do all of that instead.
 
748/710 on xtrRom with Launcher Pro and vBoost. I see no need to clock it higher.

4.58 MFLOPS.

The thing flies; very responsive and clean.

Not much junk to tear out being as how it was vanilla to begin with. I tried it for a while with Helix and ADW, settled on LP.

If you try it. Be sure to go into settings > sound and display and turn off 'animations'. It's set to 'All animations' by default and slows things way down.

did not know this .... thanks and I have been running CELB as soon as he made it a Cyanogen rom..... LOL..... we learn new stuff everyday
 
My default is White Widow. It is pretty awesome. Haven't used a smoother rom yet. And I have flashed just about all of them.
 
I'm still using the stock Root thing that is the base before you add a different ROM to it. Can't seem to find a ROM I actually like. Using LauncherPro, because I also hate the stuff that sense has on the bottom, but I do like the HTC widgets. Looking to try out sensable here in a bit. Letting my phone charge before I tag it with a 80+ MB download lol. (Can't download anything on the ship computers...)

are you using my video patch? u can find it on xda, and i may have a copy of it on my HD still but idk. you may also want to grab the 5MP camera we have.
CE isnt a bad rom, its just horribly outdated at this point, i dont see any reason to use that over White Widow or CLB.

I don't use the camera on the phone, honestly. I've got a nice camera that goes most places with me and does video as well.

Like I said with CLB, I get terrible battery life. We're talking like a 4x drain. I mean to check the usage history sometime, but I just haven't gotten around to it. (Working 6 day/week and dealing with bronchitis is not fun)

As far as WW goes, I have had a few non-replicated FCs and other issues such as getting stuck in a loop for adding gmail accounts. On the whole, nothing big, but it's just something I haven't felt like setting up properly lately.

Out of curiosity, what is outdated with CE beyond the camera/video issues? Nothing in the changelog for CLB (I haven't been keeping up with WW) seems to be major except the change in the base to 5.0.8. Even then, I'm unsure of what advantage that brings.
 
I like Evil Eris, it's a good ROM, but MY problem I only had about 30-40 MB free space.. were as ivans official IM runinng anywere 69-74 MB free space.
 
I loved cyanogenmod, but couldn't get my google accounts to work with it, but i'm on Aloysius V12 now and love it.

Funny you ask. I just flashed 4.4 this morning. I was on 3.1 before that. I kept 3.1 because it worked flawless on my phone. But 4.4 is incredible. ADW settings and other various goodies are built in the system menu, its stable, fast and looks good. Does LWP very well too. No JIT, but I don't really miss it because it's so smooth. OH! One more bonus, previous roms have crashed my phone at anything over 710mhz. I cranked it up to 767 with no issues today.

There are a lot of great roms out there, but WW just fits my needs and feels right to me. All the buttons and features are coherent and it's not just some stripped out rom. It's been thought through really well.
 
I've tried a number of different ROMs. I started with Evil Eris, and almost stayed with it until I realised the soft keys didn't light up. I moved to Sense-able 3.1 and stayed with that one for some time, and just recently I installed Aloysius Snow, and am loving it. truly an awesome ROM and it is quick and snappy.

Those are the 3 big ones I've tried, there are many others I have tried as well, but I haven't liked them as well.
