Does is bother you the EVO SD card is inside the case?

While yes, hot-swapping would not be a bad thing to have, who really can't hande the what, 1-2 mins required to power off/pop out batt and sd/ swap/ reboot? I have a few cards that I swap in and out depending on my needs at the moment.

Would actually be nice if the next iteration of the EVO had both the internal slot that supports apps to SD and all functions as it does now and an externally accessable slot for media only. IE vids, music and photos. Of course it will need to support the next generation of SD cards that go bigger than 32GB as well.

I was annoyed by the memory card being behind the battery but once I realized how easy it is to steal memory cards from phones, I realized it may not be that bad of an idea. if somebody can pop out my memory card with anything that I don't want shared in less than a minute is not something I'd be too happy about.

So the small inconvenience of having to power off the phone for a minute or so is well worth the security of knowing that it's a lot harder to steal my memory card.

Exactly, and there are benefits to powering down the phone every once in a while too, to clear out the memory.

Where did you get a 32 GB card for $50? Brand? Any issues with it? Link?

it was a sandisk 32gb class 2 sold on Verizon's web site. No issues with it at all.

Bad news is, it's not $50 anymore. It was a screw up that alot of people took advantage of and Verizon honored it.

On my old flip phone the sd card slot was on the side. After some time the SD card would disappear randomly from the phone. So my contacts would be missing pictures and my background would disappear - very annoying. Don't know if this was dust or some build-up in there or just the card itself. But removing and reinserting the card always brought it back. But it would be nice if the SD card was accessible without having to remove the back. My wife's old moto phone had the SD card in the same place as the evo.

But I think the majority of people are just buying the bigger cards. I did. Bought a 16GB card because I filled the 8GB with music and it didn't leave much space for the pictures.

On the next EVO, I'd like to see:

1. More internal storage
2. An internal SD card
3. An external SD slot

That would cover all the SD issues I read here.

I'm back! :D

Anyway - On topic. No - I'm not upset that it's inside the case. I don't even remove it. I have no reason to.

I actually think it's nice because then there's just one less slot on he outside of the device to receive dust in it ^_^

Once I get my Evo that is, I'll be happy that it's on the inside. Less dust to worry about and I don't have to worry about the elements getting to the SD card.

Pretty much what most people said, its secure.

When I first got the phone i thought it was ritarted. But then I realized, its not like im going to be in there all the time. And the security is a great point. It in the perfect spot.
I actually would bet thats why HTC put it there.
