I don't know what you're referring to. However, guides and mods can't be everywhere. Rudeness is forbidden. If anyone is rude? Hit the report button and they get the message and post nicely. End of problem.

Next question. :)

See? I can act all official-ly. :)

lol no I get that. I'm not trying to start people getting into trouble... I was simply asking if others got the same reaction from his post as I did thats all.

It doesn't get the person in trouble. It gets the post either edited or deleted by a mod, with explanation. Then the person gets the idea and softens it up a bit.

If it's really bad, they get a warning. If you don't report it, someone else will probably. We are ALL supposed to use the report button (wisely), not just guides or mods. K?

BTW, good to see you around. How's work? Heating up? ;) Couldn't resist! :)

hahaha actually we had a couple pretty bad fires last week... but generally I say that the less busy I am at the firehouse the better it is (means less people are being hurt)

I wonder about that. The danger and all. It's like Mariano Rivera said after 9/11: We're not the heroes, the firefighters and police are. They risk their lives to save others, we just play a game.

Feel the love, bro. :)

One of my life regrets is that I never did any volunteer work, like that or military, to serve my community or my country. I'm 52. Kinda old, now. Oh well.

Go find the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity.

I did that for 3 years, just haven't picked up again at my local chapter now that I've moved. It's awesome. You build houses for people who need them, get to play with tools, get exercise and get out in the sunshine while supporting a worthwhile cause.

It's sad how few "dedicated" members there were at our other chapter. My girlfriend and I were two of only four people who actually came every week. But it's lots of fun, I learned a lot, and there are jobs for people of all skills/abilities/sizes/ages.

No, it's not fighting fires. No, it's not the military. But it's a great local cause that makes a serious, immediate impact on the people in the community.

The last two houses we built were one for a family who was living in a terrible neighborhood, whose 6-year-old sun was robbed of his bike at knifepoint in his parking lot. The second was for a family who was going to have to put their mother in a nursing home because they couldn't provide a place that was safe, accessible to her with a walker and was comfortable/large enough for her to live without pain (e.g. have a real bed).

There are lot of other causes of course but I found Habitat to be very fulfilling and thoroughly enjoyable. The families were great and we became real friends with them over the weeks of working.

So I'm not sure where else to post this and if mods feel it needs to be removed then go for it, but I just wanted some others opinions... does anyone else feel that P3's last couple posts in this forum (the root section) were kind of dickish and came off with a very "high and mighty" attitude? For him to sit there and say that he is disappointed in this site and its members then basically call people "juvenile delinquents with a phone"...? Yeah I gotta say I'm loosing a lot of respect for him there...
I think a lot of peoples anger with that app was a lack of communication between the Dev's and the buyers... but the buyers should maybe do some research before buying something next time?
Idk I just feel that P3's post were in very poor taste in terms of the "PR" side of things and figured here would be a good place to get others opinions since I dont feel the topic deserves it's own thread.

I just felt hung out to dry. I felt like he personally attacked me and said I was not doing my job and I brought shame to the forum. And no one was there to support me really at the time...(jreed you came later). I don't know what to think I told the guy sorry and he didn't respond, I sent it through twitter and he didn't respond...I don't know, I am feeling a little down:(

I wouldnt feel down at all. I dont feel you did anything wrong in there at all. If you did someone would have said something to you about it. Like I said, I lost a lot of respect for him over how he handled everything
I've worked in customer service for over 13 years now and from my point of view he provided very poor customer service. When you sell a product (which is what your doing when supplying an app that people are paying for) you have to be able to handle the customers in a proper manner otherwise you lose business...
Insulting your customers is not the right way to handle it.
Communication is KEY

Seriously, don't let it bother you. He was lashing out because he didn't like a pervasive opinion. He was going to find someone to attack in any event.

Frankly, I think it's all a bunch of bull. Post up a supposed leaked build with no change log or ANY indication whatsoever that there were modifications other than a version number in the build.prop, demand payment for it - when it wasn't actually your work at all - and then get all bent out of shape when people question it? It's ridiculous.

I wholeheartedly support donating to devs or buying their products. But there's a whole big difference between donating because of work done, or buying something they created, any demanding payment for something that wasn't your work at all and, in fact, there was actually no evidence was even real?

sorry I didn't come in earlier D13. I was in and out, and I really don't like to get involved in things like that. But someone had to come out and say that guy was being a douche. I don't care what he does or what he has brought to the community. Nobody has the right to call out virtually this entire forum for not liking what was already a douche move from the beginning. I really REALLY didn't like how the mod came in a cleaned house either.

agreed 1000%

Thanks bro, I didn't really know what to think, so thanks for guiding me to the right path:)

unfortunately it looks like I'm just gonna have to stop posting my opinions in this forum anymore... maybe Ill still be able to in this thread but I'm not gonna bother in any of the other threads anymore.... Just facts I know when I have them and can help because apparently some mods are just gonna delete posts and lock threads where people have questions about an app that they paid for and instead of getting decent answers from the Dev they get insulted by one of the Dev's of that app...
Not how i'd run things.... but thats me I guess
Kinda sad if you ask my opinion (not that anyone did, just venting my frustration)

Hey guys

As I'm sure most of you have noticed, there seems to be a bit of tension between some of the different forums. This isn't what AF wants and we hope that everyone can get along together! Subsequently, the decision has been made to close or move all of the "extra" lounge/water cooler threads and put them all in the Lounge. This will encourage all users to interact with each other just a little bit more, help calm the nerves when someone "new" shows up in the wrong forum and ultimately lead to a more helpful and friendly site for all of us!

Since this is a pretty active thread, the decision has been made to keep it open!

Feel free to read and post throughout all of AF (yes, this includes the phones that you don't own) but please keep in mind that, as always, the Forum Rules will still apply regardless of where you post!

Now quit reading this and go make some new friends :D

-The staff of AF

this is counter productive to the original intentions of this thread. We all know where the lounge is and that we are free to go there if we wish.
