I know someone on here said that by searching for the update wont send it to your phone. I just searched and found it. It said I had it available. I would say cant hurt to try!!!!

Just got the update here in Nashville, TN. Did a manual check on the way home from work, and it was there. My battery level went up from 80 to 90%, so hopefully the wonky battery issues are over! Swiping between home screens is instantaneous, just seems faster than before. Almost can't see the animations. Opening Camera takes just over 1 second now. Long press on camera button opens camera. Not sure if it did that before, let me know if you haven't installed update.

Kindle app in is the app drawer now. My Verizon was still the old version, but when opened, it redirected me to the market and I was finally able to install ver 5.0. The new version is SWEET!

I would say that they were wrong. I manually checked and found it...it asked if I wanted to download it. So, I did not have the update until I manually checked for it.

So, is anyone still getting the thing where if you are down to 40% and reboot, you go up to 70%?

I just did that and it stayed at the same number before the reboot.

There's no way to know which number was actually the correct number before, so I don't know if it made the battery life seem better or worse, but hopefully, it's at least accurate now.

Does anyone else not have the menu come up when the hard home button is pressed on the center home screen?

I did notice this but I think they actually corrected although I didn't know any better. It makes sense for the home button to take you to the "home" screen. Use the app arrow to get to your app drawer however I think I liked it the other way around better.

But isn't that big of a deal.

I haven't tested the camera yet.

Ok i updated this morning but now i have a major problem......bluetooth resets the wireless radio.......whenever bluetooth is on my radio bars go to a red X then starts back up. The bluetooth also resets......it will do this about every 45 seconds if the bluetootb stays on......anyone else having this problem?.....btw this just started after the update

edit...actually i think it has to do with my bury hands free car kit....my bluetooth headphones work fine

Does this mean that there's still a chance that the update may turn out to be counterproductive?

Well he updated so any thing he finds now is gonna be on the updated system. IMO I would just update it. Before long someone will find a way to revert it back to the original version if it needs to be rolled back...

The SD card can only be mounted to the phone or the PC, not both.

Which bugs the heck outta me. I'll plug it into the usb cable to transfer files, and then want to test them to make sure they work, and then I have to plug it back in, and it relaunched the damned verizon software web page again. Grrrrrr!

Just a heads up..

The more a battery is polled / higher checking rate on the battery, the more juice it will draw and drain your battery faster.

Its better to have a 10% polling rate than a 5% one, the balance is finding the right numbers to help you accurately gauge your battery usage while giving the best battery life.

The display percent increment has nothing to do with the polling rate. It could poll once a second or once an hour and it will still display in 10% increments.

I just noticed something new. With the phone off and plugged into the charger a display shows battery level. (I knew that) Then after the screen turns off you can go back and check the progress of charging the battery by pressing the power button once. Is this a new feature or did I just get it?
